Chapter 1298

Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess · Dana E.

"Josie, get some sleep. I'll wrap things up here and come home soon. Try not to

miss me too much, okay?"

Josefina: "..."

Who said she missed him?

Classic Oliver-so full of himself.

She didn't bother to argue, just told him, "Stay safe."

Oliver: "Yeah."

She ended the video call.

As soon as Oliver turned around, Logan was standing right behind him, still as a statue.

Luke was trying to drag Logan away, but it was pointless-Logan was like an unmovable mountain.

"Oliver, I need a word," Logan said, looking dead serious.

Oliver raised an eyebrow. "Shoot."

Logan nodded toward a quiet corner. "Let's talk over there."

Oliver glanced at Luke. "Give us a sec."

Luke let go.

Logan shot Luke a look—a mix of accusation and disappointment.

Luke scratched his head, confused.

What did I do this time?

Then it hit him. Logan was pissed because Luke listened to Oliver instead of him.

Luke almost laughed out loud.

Someone's jealous.

Left alone, Logan leaned in and said two low, quick sentences.

Oliver's brow furrowed, looking genuinely surprised.

"Believe me or not, that's up to you. Just remember, my mentor's got your back."

And with that, Logan walked off with Luke.

Luke hurried after him, pestering, "Logan, what did you guys talk about? What kind of secret can't I know?"

Logan ignored him.

Luke kept at it, “Logan, are we still friends or what?"

Logan stayed silent, no matter how much Luke tried to get a reaction Luke ended up circling him, practically chasing him out of the courtyard

Meanwhile, Oliver's crew was clearing out the yard. Darren wiped sweat from his

face as he watched them haul stuff away.

"Damn, this is a straight-up challenge. I've already reported it to the higher-ups. Those punks aren't getting away with this."

Oliver said "Darren, you take the weapons back yourself. I don't want I keep

any surprises. I stay here aret

an eye on things until you get back."

"Mr. Oliver, always thinking ahead. Alright, I'll handle it. You've got things covered here."

Oliver nodded. "Go."

Darren left with some of the team. The rest stayed behind with Oliver.

Once most people had cleared out, Livia started to leave too.

Finley jogged after her. “Livia, it's not safe for a girl to walk alone at night. Let me walk you home."

Livia didn't even slow down. "I don't need your help."

Finley tried again, grinning, “Then how about you walk me home? I'm scared out here by myself."

Livia: "..."

Unbelievable.

That guy's got a thicker skin than a city wall.

Harry glanced at Asher, raising his eyebrows. “Finley sure has his work cut out for him."

Asher shot him a look right back. "Not everyone can be Mr. Oliver. Finding love isn't always smooth sailing, you know."

Harry smirked. "Honestly, I always thought Mr Oliver was destined to

be single forever. If anyone was going to get a girlfriend first, I

figured it'd be you or me. Who knew the cold, stone-faced Mr. Oliver would be the first to get lucky?"

Oliver frowned at them. "Are you two gossiping?"

Harry blinked. "Nope.”

Oliver narrowed his eyes. “Then why is it so loud? Way too much chatter.”

Harry and Asher: "!!"

They'd only been talking with their eyes-how did Mr. Oliver always know exactly

what they were thinking?
