The security footage didn't catch Lena entering the building, and it definitely missed anyone else too.

Josie, as her friends called her, was quick to draw conclusions. "If the camera didn't catch her, then Lena must've been meeting her contact here!"

Oliver nodded in agreement. "I've got others checking the nearby street cams. I refuse to believe they're all out of order."

Their only hope now was that one of these nearby cameras would provide a breakthrough.

"Josie, I've just got a fresh batch of seafood delivered to my place. How about coming over for dinner?" Oliver offered casually.

Josie shook her head. "My mentor sent me a ton of seafood, and then there's Sean; he dropped off quite the haul too. I just had a seafood feast, and I can't do another. Too much of that, and I'll be worrying about gout."

Oliver was left speechless. That Grant was sly as a fox!

"I didn't know your mentor sent you seafood. How about coming over for something different? I've hired a chef who can whip up a variety of dishes."

Josie shook her head again. "Maybe next time. I need to get some rest tonight; I've got work tomorrow."

Oliver tried a different tactic. "Josie, what if you didn't have to work? Let me take care of you, so you don't have to."

But Josie was firm. "No way. I'm used to standing on my own two feet. I don't want to rely on anyone else."

Oliver couldn't be mad; he just adored her too much. Whatever Josie wanted to do, he would support it.

"I'll drive you home then," he said.

She nodded, not mentioning she had come on her motorcycle.

When Josie got home, she was surprised to find Lena there too.

"Mom, Dad, you have to try this. The roast duck from this place is out of this world, truly authentic."

Hattie took a bite of the duck and was instantly raving. "This is delicious."

Lena was overjoyed. "I'm glad you like it. I'll queue up again next time. It was quite the wait, an hour and a half just to get this, but it's worth it seeing you enjoy it."

Hattie was concerned. "Lena, you

shouldn't have to wait that long, especially in this beat. You'll wear yourself ous Next time, let's just order in, okay? We don't want you getting heatstroke." s

Garrett chimed in, "We can always have someone else do these errands. You don't need to stand in line yourself."

Then Lena saw Josie and greeted her excitedly, "Josie, you're back! Come have some roast duck!"

Hattie added, "Josie, I had Annika save you some bird's nest soup. Don't forget to have some later."

Garrett then mentioned, "Josie, I

heard from Annika you're going back to work tomorrow. Why not rest at home for a couple of days? While you were away, I had someone from headquarters help out, so you wouldn't be overworked." s

Josie's brow furrowed slightly before relaxing. "He's already there?"

Garrett explained, "I didn't want you to overdo it, so I sent someone to assist you. Check it out when you get back, an if you're not happy

He hadn't told Josie in advance, hoping to spare her the trouble of asking.

"Dad, it's fine. I'll see for myself at the office tomorrow. I'm quite tired now; I think I'll go up to bed."

Hattie suggested, "Josie, go take a nice bath and rest. I'll have Annika bring the bird's nest soup up to you."

Josie thanked her and headed upstairs.

Garrett hadn't quite relaxed when Hattie pinched his arm as a gentle reprimand. Garrett just winced in response.
