Chapter 513

Reid and Calix got the call to come home, and when they did, they were hit with something they could hardly believe: their sister, Lena, caught up in a plot so vile.

Gathered in the living room, surrounded by family, the brothers had no choice but to face the harsh truth.

Emily's voice shook as she spoke, "I never would've imagined Lena would be the one to push me down the stairs. I watched that girl grow up. How could she do something like this?"

Grandpa Robert, his tone laden with sorrow, added, "To think she'd team up with strangers to poison us for the family fortune. It's heartbreaking to believe the girl we raised could turn out this way."

Josefina chimed in, "Lena wasn't always like this. I bet she met someone who twisted her mind. Otherwise, why would a girl raised in the Harrison family suddenly turn against her own?"

Everyone sat in silence, mulling over Josefina's words and trying to figure out what to do next.

Garrett broke the silence, "I've got people digging into it, but so far, no leads."

Dorian added, "We don't know when Lena met this person. She's been around plenty of people over the years, making it a real challenge to track down."

Reid, still in shock, said, "How did she manage to fool us all? She was with us every day, and her act was flawless. I never saw it coming."

Calix, who had starred in his share of dramas, exclaimed, "Even TV shows don't have twists like this. Why would she hate us so much? She's my little sister, for crying out loud. It's just evil!"

Hattie sighed deeply, her heart heavy with sadness. Her daughter, whom she had cherished for eighteen years, had turned out so cruel.

All eyes turned to Josefina, their gazes gentle and appreciative.

Garrett spoke up, "We owe our escape from this disaster to Josie. Thank goodness she came back when she did. Otherwise, all our hard work would've gone up in smoke."

Hattie added, "Josie is truly our family's good luck charm."

A chorus of praises filled the room as they silently thanked Josefina for saving the family.

Josefina blushed, a bit embarrassed but grateful for such a loving family. She had initially been worried they might think she wanted to get rid of Lena out of spite.

Thankfully, the family understood the truth, and Josefina was relieved. If it had been Billy, he would've probably accused her of having a malicious intent.

Speaking of Billy, his days were anything but peaceful.

His son still hadn't returned, and Lauren was staying at his house with Ruby, contemplating calling the police.

When Billy got home, he overheard Lauren and Ruby discussing it.

Lauren was saying, "Ruby, we should commit your father to a mental institution. He's a ticking time bomb at home, and it's only a matter of time before he does something to us."

Ruby, surprised by the idea, thought for a moment before agreeing, "Mom, I'm so scared. Dad is terrifying, always walking around with a knife. It's really frightening."

Lauren continued, "That's why I'm thinking of having him committed. It would make our lives so much easier. I'll look into selling the company, and with the money, we can go abroad and find your brother."

As mother and daughter dreamed of a better future, Billy stormed in, wielding a large knife.

"You crazy woman, die!" he screamed, swinging the blade wildly, determined to cut down anyone in his path.
