Chapter 604
Dorian voiced his concerns, "Josie is young and innocent, never been in a
relationship before. Oliver knows how to charm a young girl, I'm worried Josie might get hurt."
Without delay, Garrett decided to take action. "I'll give Oliver a call."
And true to his word, Garrett dialed Oliver right away.
Oliver's voice came through, "Hey Uncle, good evening."
"Oliver, you off to bed already?" Garrett inquired.
"Yeah, had a long day, hit the sack a bit early," Oliver replied, sensing something was off in Garrett's tone. He glanced at the girl beside him, a slight smile on his lips.
"I thought you were out having dinner with Josie tonight," Garrett continued, casting a glance at Dorian.
Oliver, keeping his cool, responded, "Didn't have dinner with Josie today." That was the truth.
He had indeed picked up Josefina but hadn't dined with her.
After exchanging a few pleasantries, Garrett ended the call.
"Reid, you're overthinking it. Oliver said he didn't have dinner with Josie. Plus, Josie's at Livia's place. We're worrying over nothing."
Dorian, reassured, chatted a bit more with Garrett before heading upstairs to rest.
...
When Josefina woke up, it was 7 in the morning, her head throbbing and feeling out of sorts.
The shock hit her when she realized the person beside her was Oliver.
"Where am I? Who am I?" she wondered in panic.
As Oliver held her, Josefina struggled to break free, pushing him away as he opened his eyes.
Seeing her agitation, Oliver tried to calm her down. "Josie, take it easy. I didn't do anything, I promise. I wouldn't force you."
Checking her clothes, Josefina discovered she was wearing Oliver's pajamas, her underwear missing.
"Oliver, this is outrageous! Why didn't you take me home? What were you thinking?" she accused.
Oliver remained calm, sitting up to reveal his toned torso and abs that seemed too tempting to touch.
Wrapping herself in the blanket, Josefina glared at him. "You're out of line, Oliver!"
Oliver explained, "Josie, I didn't take
your clothes off. You were drunk last night, and didn't want your folks worried, so I brought you
hereet
went downstairs to get you some hangover soup, and when I came back, you had started a bath..."
Seeing Josefina's face peek out from the blanket, looking utterly adorable, he continued, "I pulled you out of the fob and dried your hairs tub You were naked, and I dressed you in the dark. Josie, I didn't see
anything."
५
Even with his excellent vision, Oliver insisted the darkness prevented him from
seeing anything more than a brief glimpse of her skin.
Yet, Josefina remained upset, "Why didn't you take me home, Oliver? You had ulterior motives."
Oliver sighed, "Josie, remember you said you didn't want your family to see you drunk? That's why I didn't take you home."
Caught in an awkward situation, Josefina demanded, "Oliver, leave. 1 need to get dressed. I don't want to. talk to your she was convinced it was all deliberate. fo
Oliver, now standing in his shorts and bare-chested, made his way out.
Josefina buried her face under the blanket, feeling shattered. How did she end up sleeping in Oliver's bed, barely clothed?
