Chapter 650

Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess · Dana E.

"Thanks, Uncle Joe," Josefina said, not bothering with any formalities.

Accepting the gift, Evan finally breathed a sigh of relief. With Josefina placated, maybe Dorian wouldn't back out of their deal.

Evan then took the initiative to toast Garrett, constantly working to keep the atmosphere lively. Everyone seemed quite satisfied with the meal.

After dinner, Evan even suggested they go for karaoke, but Josefina politely declined. Before she could even finish her refusal, a call from Luke came through.

Josefina stepped aside to take the call, her expression growing increasingly grim. "I'll be right there."

Turning to Evan, she added, "Uncle Joe, I'm sorry, something's come up and I need to take care of it."

"Josie, if you've got stuff to handle, go on ahead. We'll catch up another time."

Josefina then addressed her family, "A friend's run into a bit of trouble; I need to go check on them."

With that, she dashed off, quickly hailing a cab. Hattie was worried, fearing Josefina might have encountered some trouble. In front of Evan, Hattie kept her composure, not wanting to venture out, only wishing to get home and find a chance to ask Josie if she needed any help.

Arriving at Livia's place, Josefina punched in the code and walked in. Luke and Livia were sitting in the living room in silence, Livia with a vacant look in her eyes, neither of them speaking.

"Livia, what's going on? Did that jerk Finley mess with you again?" Josefina exclaimed.

Livia managed a smile that seemed sadder than tears. "Josie, I'm okay. I just couldn't remember some past events, so I tried soaking in the tub to jog my memory. Luke arrived and thought I was doing something foolish."

Luke, hesitating at first, let out a heavy sigh instead of speaking his mind.

"Is it because of that scumbag Finley? Livia, tell me, I'll get justice for you!" Josefina was livid. Just the mention of Finley sent her into a fury.

Seeing Livia upset made Luke equally distressed. "I swear, Livia, just say the word, and I'll bring Finley's head on a platter!" Luke declared angrily.

Livia forced a smile, reassuring them, "You don't have to worry about me. I'm fine, and it's not about Finley I've blocked him everywhere. He's nothing to me now content

"Just because you've blocked him doesn't erase the fact that he hurt you," Josefina argued, still seething. Thinking about Finley only fueled her rage further. Facing a girl with fost memories, how could Finley dare to treat Livia as a substitute for Shay? No decent person would do such a thing!

Luke clenched his fists, filled with righteous anger, "Livia, if he's hurt you, I can't let it

go. Someone like him doesn't deserve to walk this earth."

Livia tried to calm them, "Thanks for coming over, but I'm really okay. There's nothing between Fi etween Finley and me anymore. You don't have to go" after him. He's a stranger to me now."

Hearing Livia say this, Josefina and Luke couldn't push further. Finley wasn't worth their time.

Luke changed the topic, "Boss, you stay with Livia. I'll whip up something for us to

eat."

He got up as the groceries he'd ordered arrived. While Luke cooked, Josefina kept Livia company.

"Livia, let's go out tomorrow. I know some fun spots in Westwood we can explore. I'll be there to take your mind off things."

Livia smiled, grateful, "Thanks, Josie."

"Don't mention it. We'll all stick by you. We're family, after all."

Livia felt a warm sense of gratitude towards Josefina for her support.
