Chapter 656
Hattie clutched her phone with determination. "Alright, I'm booking the VIP lounge now. You'd better come out on top, Reid. If you snag second place, I'll see just how confident you really are."
"My confidence is rock solid; I'm definitely going to outplay Albert this time! I've had a hunch there's a tech genius behind Albert's company, pulling all the strings."
As Reid voiced his suspicions, Josefina stepped out of the elevator, feeling a sudden jolt in her chest.
Smart as a whip, Calix, to guess even this. But who let the cat out of the bag?
Hattie and Reid, hearing the sound, turned around in unison to see Josefina returning, smiles blooming on their faces at her sight.
Josefina held a bouquet of flowers, absolutely stunning.
Hattie walked over with a smile. "Josie, don't worry, I had Annika whip up some mint chocolate chip ice cream for you."
Handing over the flowers, Josefina said in a sweet and sensible tone, "Thank you, Mom. These flowers are for you."
Hattie paused, touched and thrilled. "Josie, what made you think of giving your mom flowers? They're beautiful; you've made me so happy!"
Clutching the flowers, Hattie wished she could let the whole world know her darling daughter had brought her flowers!
Josefina beamed. "I passed by the florist on my way home from school and saw these beautiful flowers. I immediately thought of you. Flowers suit a beauty, after all."
Hattie was even more moved. "Thank you, Josie. There's nothing like a daughter's care. You're so thoughtful."
Reid stood there, speechless for a moment, but he wasn't upset. Seeing Josie give flowers to their mom, he too felt a burst of happiness.
Such a considerate sister, such a dutiful daughter.
"Sis, you really know how to give a gift. It's perfect," Reid praised with a hearty laugh.
Hattie, still holding the flowers, urged, "Reid, stop dilly-dallying. Go on and take a nice shower."
Embarrassed, Reid replied, "Sis, I'm heading up for a shower then."
With that, Reid scurried off.
...
Hattie busied herself with her phone, snapping pictures of the flowers from every angle.
She took loads of photos, then went on to share them on social media.

Josefina, watching Hattie's actions, couldn't help but smile.
Tasting the mint chocolate chip ice cream Annika had made, she adored it. "Annika, you've outdone yourself."
Flattered by the compliment, Annika was in high spirits. "I'm glad you like it, Ms. Josefina."

mother-daughter relationship deepened even further.
At the dinner table, Reid invited everyone to come watch the competition the following day.
"I've prepared thoroughly. I'm going to crush Albert this time!"
Josefina nearly choked on her soup, hastily lowering her head to wipe her mouth.
Dorian spoke first, "I'm swamped tomorrow. I've got three meetings and a partnership discussion. I can't make it."
Reid snorted, visibly displeased. "I

Josefina remained silent, trapped in a dilemma.
Seeing Reid's hopeful gaze, she found it impossible to refuse. "Calix, I'll be there on time."
Reid's face lit up with a brilliant smile at her agreement.
Josefina discreetly took out her phone, sneaking a message to Albert...
