Chapter 690

Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess · Dana E.

"Josie, I'm such a mess..."

"Livia, it's not you, it's Finley who's the jerk."

Josefina kept her cool as she analyzed the situation. "Where's your phone? Was it Finley who called you? Are you sure it was his number?"

Livia nodded, "Yeah, it was his number."

Josefina pulled out her phone, seeing a message from Luke.

"Finley wasn't at the bar drinking; someone set you up, Livia."

Josefina's voice tightened with anger. "Livia, someone used tech to fake Finley's number and call you. Luke checked it out-Finley wasn't there."

Livia was dumbfounded. "If it wasn't him, who else could it be? Who would want to hurt me?"

She couldn't think of anyone she had wronged.

Josefina had a hunch but kept it to herself, wanting Livia to rest and recover. "Livia, just focus on getting better. I'll look into this and make sure you get justice." Livia suddenly grabbed Josefina's hand, tears welling up. "Josie, please don't. If they targeted me, they'll come after you too. I can't let you get hurt because of me." Josefina patted her hand reassuringly. "Don't worry about me, Livia. I'll be fine." Josefina silently vowed to get to the bottom of this.

After chatting for a while, Livia fell asleep.

Josefina spent the night at the hospital to keep Livia company.

...

At seven in the morning, Hattie arrived with breakfast.

Josefina opened the door and was surprised to see her. "Mom, what are you doing here?"

"I was worried when you didn't come home last night. You said you were with a friend, so I thought they might need some nutritious food. I brought breakfast."

"Thanks, Mom."

"You're welcome."

Hattie walked in, and Livia was awake but had little appetite.

Soon after Oliver showed up with chicken soup and Josefina's favorite breakfast items: pancakes and rice balls. Content Belongs

They chatted for a bit before Josefina had to head to school.

"Aunt Hattie, I'll drive Josie to school."

"Oliver, thanks for helping out."

"No trouble at all. Taking care of Josie is my job."

Oliver held Josefina's hand as they left. She tried to pull away, but he wouldn't let

go.

"Josie, you can't shake me off. Just give up."

"But my mom is still here. It's so awkward." Josefina felt embarrassed.

Oliver just laughed. "Embarrassed?"

"I am not."

"Josie, you'll get used to it. We'll be holding hands every day. Everyone will get used to it."

Josefina had nothing to say.

Oliver held her hand as they walked, and she had no choice but to give in.

As they neared the school, Oliver parked the car.

"Josie, tomorrow's the weekend. Let's go out."

"Where to?"

"Wherever you want to go, we'll go together."

"I can't. You know Livia's in the hospital. I need to be there for her."

"I've hired a nurse for Livia; she

should be

at the hospital now. She'll

take good care of Livia, so don't worry.

"Oliver, that was quick."

Oliver leaned in and whispered in her a smile, "Josie, I might be

ear with @

quick other things but in bed, I'm

definitely not."

"Oliver, you're such a jerk!"

Josefina opened the car door and ran out, leaving Oliver grinning at her retreating figure.
