Chapter 711

Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess · Dana E.

When Josefina got the call from Rowan, she figured it was time for a meet-up. There were things she needed to get straight, and talking face-to-face was the only way to do it.

It wasn't until 5 AM that Oliver finally called.

"Josie, did I wake you?" Oliver's voice, as magnetic as ever, carried his usual

concern.

"Oliver, what's got you jetting off abroad? Need a hand?" She had connections overseas too.

"Josie, you hiding any other secrets from me?"

Josefina paused, caught off guard.

"Nothing like that. I just thought, given the sudden trip, you might've run into trouble. After all, I know a fair few martial artists."

"Don't worry about me. But, Josie, make sure you miss me," Oliver said, his voice dripping with charm.

Josefina sat up, yawning, "Oliver, you better catch some sleep."

"Alright, Josie, just remember to miss me."

After hanging up, Josefina got up to exercise. A new day had begun.

...

Josefina arrived at the café Rowan had mentioned and waited. Rowan strolled in late, carrying an air of arrogance and a cold gaze that oddly reminded her of Oliver.

The family resemblance was unmistakable.

Leaning back, Josefina teased, "Mr. Oliver, you wanted to talk today, right? Staring isn't going to get us anywhere."

Rowan was momentarily speechless.

"Sharp-tongued, aren't you?"

Josefina, unfazed and rather pleased with herself, retorted, "I've been told I have a way with words."

Rowan remained silent, clearly unamused.

Josefina seemed immune to any jabs, taking everything in stride without offense.

Rowan cut to the chase, "Josefina, you think I'll let you off for messing with my family?"

"Mr. Oliver you're off base there. When have I messed with them? Dominic asked me to check on Mrs. Mrs Claybourne's leg and I did. But legrand I

never promised a miracle cure. I'm tired of repeating myself."

Rowan pondered the truth of her words.

Josefina went on, "If you trust Dominic, Shay, and Sydney, why

bother questioning me? Why not ask Grandpa Brandon? He was t

admitted he came to me for Mrs. Claybourne's leg - just for å consultation."

Rowan's expression darkened as he mulled over her statement.

"I've got a truth to tell," Josefina added.

"What?" Rowan asked, his face a mask of stone.

"Dominic and Shay's brains together don't match up to Oliver's smarts."

Rowan was speechless again.

"Josefina, you think I've got no way to deal with you?" Rowan's anger flared.

Josefina, however, remained calm, showing no fear.

"Mr. Oliver, can't you see? Oliver's too clever to pull something this dumb!"

Rowan, furious, took a sip of water to hide his emotions, surprised at losing his cool in front of her.
