Chapter 737
Josefina, carrying a can of soda and a bucket of fried chicken, took the private elevator up to Oliver's office floor.
As she stepped out, she noticed George pacing nervously in front of Oliver's door.
The moment George heard the elevator ding, he whipped around, his eyes lighting up as he saw Josefina approaching. He quickly walked up to her, greeting her with a mix of relief and respect, "Ms. Josefina, it's such a relief to see you here!"
"What's going on, George?" she asked, sensing the tension.
"Dominic and Rowan are here. They're putting the screws to Mr. Oliver, trying to force him to give up some of his control," George explained, visibly anxious.
George had admired Oliver since their college days, always impressed by his exceptional abilities. When Oliver offered him a job as his secretary, George had jumped at the chance. Now, seeing Oliver entangled in family drama, he felt completely helpless.
"George, don't worry. Oliver isn't someone you can push around that easily. How many times have Rowan and Dominic tried to get one over on him and failed? Relax," Josefina reassured him.
But George wasn't convinced. "Ms. Josefina, this time it's different. I overheard Rowan accusing Mr. Oliver of doing something awful to his stepmother. They're in the conference room now, and they've even brought in the shareholders."
Josefina paused, her mind racing. Sydney had pinned this on Oliver?
"Without any evidence, Rowan can't just pin this on Oliver, and Oliver won't stand for
it. Go back to your duties, George. I'll handle this," she instructed.
"Alright," George replied, still uneasy, and returned to his desk.

Inside the conference room, Oliver sat at the head of the table, his posture straight and authoritative. Rowan, refusing to show any weakness, sat right next to him taking up a significant amount of space. Dominic was right beside Rowan, both of them glaring daggers at Oliver.
The shareholders were there too, sitting quietly, afraid to utter a word.
Oliver's gaze was sharp as he scanned the room. "Did the company call for this meeting?" he asked, his words as cold as ice, sending chills down everyone's spines.
Rowan, with a steely demeanor, replied, "I called them here, Oliver. The company isn't yours alone. I've told you before, you can't manage everything by yourself live asked the shareholders to witness this y need to hand over half of your control to Dominic, let him help you out."
Oliver was already sick of Rowan's voice, which always made him want to punch something. Yet, Rowan kept showing up like an annoying pest.
Standing up, Oliver scoffed, "If it's going to be about this again, don't bother calling me for a meeting next time. It's a waste of my time."
Oliver stormed out, followed by the panicked shareholders, who scrambled to explain themselves.
"Mr. Oliver, I thought you had called for the meeting."
"Mr. Oliver, we had no choice. Your father threatened us over the phone. But our loyalty has always been with you."
Listening to them, Oliver smirked mockingly. These fair-weather friends weren't worth keeping around.
Striding forward, Oliver's expression softened when he saw Josefina. He took her hand as they walked away together. The shareholders stood rooted to the spot, not daring to follow, fearing Oliver's wrath.
