Chapter 749

Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess · Dana E.

Under the streetlight, Oliver and Josefina looked like the perfect couple, radiating a chemistry that was hard to miss. Joelle and Haylee, standing nearby, couldn't help but notice.

Haylee's eyes were filled with envy. "Wow, Josie's boyfriend is so handsome, isn't he? He must be like six-foot-three! Tall, dashing, and more sculpted than any model."

Joelle, however, was skeptical. "Last time I saw someone dropping Josefina off at school, it wasn't him. It was an older guy."

"Probably Josie's dad or uncle," Haylee said, her eyes glued to the pair, missing Joelle's doubtful expression entirely.

Joelle couldn't shake her suspicion. "How can you be sure he's just a relative and not something else?" she asked. "With a boyfriend that striking, why would she look elsewhere? He practically screams wealth and class."

Haylee almost wanted to ask if Joelle's head was stuck in her books for too long. Joelle had come from a modest background to Westwood and spent her high school days immersed in books. But Westwood, with its show of wealth, seemed to have left her a little bitter, maybe even envious, especially of Josefina, who had topped the national finals this year.

Trying to make her point, Haylee said, "See what I mean, Joelle? Josie's guy is the definition of tall, dark, and handsome. They're a perfect match."

Joelle managed a tight smile. "You're right."

"Let's head back to school," Haylee suggested, gently pulling Joelle's arm.

Joelle, however, held her ground. "Let's go say hi to Josefina first."

As Joelle walked toward them, Haylee hesitated, unsure whether to follow or not.

When Joelle called out, "Josefina," Haylee found herself in a bind.

Josefina turned, spotting them and giving Haylee a friendly smile. Reluctantly, Haylee approached, keeping a bit of distance from Joelle.

Up close, Haylee was nearly

Even Joelle, unprepared for Oliver's good looks, found herself taken aback.

Oliver, however, remained cool and composed, his demeanor icy to strangers.

Before Josefina could answer, Oliver's voice, smooth and magnetic, cut in, "I'm Josie's fiancé."

Josefina, expecting this, showed no surprise.

Haylee chimed in, "Congratulations, Josie."

"Thanks," Josefina replied warmly, acknowledging their relationship.

"We have some errands to run, so we'll be off," Josefina added.

Oliver, holding Josefina's hand, also carried a pink cotton candy in his other hand-

a sweet, charming touch.

As Haylee watched them leave, she turned to Joelle, "You're too hard on Josie. It's pretty obvious."

Joelle quickly protested, "I'm not."

"Whether you are or not, you know

yourself best. But I'm telling you, Josie not the bad guy here. She's good person. Don't get it twisted."
