Chapter 758

Josefina was practically bouncing with excitement, eager to catch someone red- handed! She tossed her phone aside, melting into the couch as a wave of fatigue washed over her. Oliver, ever the attentive partner, got up and poured her a glass of his homemade lemonade.

"Here, have some lemonade," he offered with a smile.

Josefina took a sip and found it surprisingly refreshing.

"Josie, what do you feel like having for dinner? I can ask the chef to whip up something special for you."

"I probably should head back. Calix texted me, asking when I'll be home. He said he's off work and can drive me to school and back," she replied with a hint of reluctance.

Oliver just stared in disbelief.

Has Calix lost it? Why's he so overbearing with Josie?

"Josie, you're my girlfriend. It's completely normal for us to spend time together.

Calix is just trying to come between us, and I don't want you going back."

With that, Oliver nestled beside Josefina, laying his head on her lap.

"Josie, you can't leave."

Josefina chuckled at the sight of this usually stern CEO acting like a sulky child.

"How about I stay for dinner and then head back?" she suggested.

"Fine," he agreed, though he secretly hoped to convince her to stay longer.

Josefina decided to stay, and they played a casual game of indoor badminton to stay active, hand in hand.

Meanwhile, Calix was pacing the living room, still waiting for Josefina to return. When Annika came in with coffee, he seized the moment.

"Annika, can you call Josie and ask her to come back?"

"Calix, is that really necessary? Josie might be busy. Calling her could just interrupt her plans."

"Oliver's probably lured her away," Calix grumbled.

Annika chuckled, "Oh, Calix, maybe Josie's just caught up with work. You know she's got a lot on he plate.

She often skips breakfast because she's in such a rush."

Calix nodded, admitting Annika had a point.

"Once Josie's done, she'll come home. She's a homebody at heart and loves being here," Annika assured.

Her words calmed Calix, and he decided to let it go.

As dinner rolled around, Oliver had the chef prepare a feast with both Western and Eastern dishes. They dined in the garden's glasshouse surrounded by blooming flowers with air conditioning keeping it coul and bug-free.

Raising his glass, Oliver toasted, "To Josie."

Josefina, with her juice glass raised, joined in. She planned to bike home later and didn't want to risk drinking.

Under the soft glow of the lights, Josefina looked stunning, and Oliver couldn't help but compliment her, "Josie, you look beautiful."

"Oliver, you're drunk on love," she teased.

"I'm not drunk. I'm clear-headed and I mean it. Josie, you're gorgeous. I wish we could have dinner together every night."

Josefina savored a bite of barbeque ribs, praising, "Your chef is amazing."

Oliver beamed, "If you like it, you should come over for dinner every night."

She didn't respond, just enjoyed another bite of the delightful sweet and sour pork.

Oliver followed her lead, trying whatever she did.
