Chapter 875
Shay's unclear behavior had everyone convinced that Oliver was her boyfriend. Joelle felt a pang of jealousy-Shay came from a well-off family, and her supposed boyfriend was not only handsome but also had an air of sophistication that screamed wealth. They looked like the perfect couple.
Their friends teased Shay, and she responded with a shy smile. Meanwhile, Josefina began her presentation on stage, speaking without notes and captivating everyone with her animated delivery. In a corner, Oliver discreetly took out his phone to snap a picture of Josefina. Even though his cap hid his face, Josefina recognized him instantly. She was certain it was Oliver.
Some students gazed at Oliver admiringly, while Shay's look was a bit more... intense. Joelle was blown away by Josefina's depth of knowledge and eloquence. No matter the question, Josefina answered with calm confidence and patience. Joelle couldn't help but whisper to herself, "Josefina is amazing."
Yuna, clearly annoyed, nudged her, "Whose side are you on?" Joelle glanced between Veronica and Josefina on stage, then lowered her head.
After the talk, students flocked to Josefina with questions, all of which she answered patiently. As Josefina headed for the exit, she suddenly stopped, and everyone noticed she was holding a huge bouquet of roses. Curiosity piqued, some students followed her out, only to see her leaving with a tall man. Joelle joined them and realized the man was the same one Shay had ambiguously mentioned as her brother or boyfriend.
Yuna, Joelle, and a couple of other students exchanged awkward glances with Shay. "Why didn't Shay clear things up?" they wondered. Her vague remarks had created quite the misunderstanding. Shay played it cool, acting as if the awkwardness was everyone else's issue.
Joelle whispered to Yuna, "How did he end up as Josefina's boyfriend?" She had seen Oliver before but hadn't connected him to Shay's vague descriptions. This revelation left Shay in a bit of a bind.
Still, Shay replied, "I told you he
wasn't my boyfriend, but you didn't believe me. Now you do, right? I don't have a boyfriend yet." Joelle grinned "With Shay's qualities her boyfriend will surely be top notch They all laughed and strolled out of the classroom together.
The video of Josefina's lecture was posted on the school website and quickly went viral, receiving praise from professors in the medical field. Josefina was taken aback by her newfound on me fame as sever professors reached out, eager to collaborate on research projects. Josefina politely declined through the school website, choosing to focus on her studies.
Later, when Josefina went to visit Hunter, she bumped into Darrick and Marina at the entrance. They were being kept outside. Seeing Josefina with a box of supplements, Marina approached her gently holding her hand, "Josefina, could you help us? Please talk to the old man and let us see him, okay?"
Josefina was taken aback. Even Marina, usually so proud, was asking for help? They must really be in a tight spot.
