Chapter 914

Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess · Dana E.

Hearing those words, Dominic's mood took a nosedive.

"Got it."

Dominic ended the call, already planning his next move to handle the situation.

With a mix of frustration and disbelief, he muttered, "I never thought the day would come when our secrets would be exposed."

A woman approached from behind, wrapping her arms around his waist, her voice dripping with seduction. "Even if it does, you've got it under control, don't you?"

Dominic turned, his broad shoulders eclipsing her petite frame.

With a mischievous grin, he tilted her chin upward and leaned in for a passionate kiss.

They moved together, clothing slipping away piece by piece, until the room was cloaked in shadows, their faces hidden, leaving only the soft murmur of their whispers.

...

Meanwhile, Josefina was at Oliver's place, feeding the koi in the backyard pond. Oliver stood nearby, engrossed in a phone call, his voice composed yet distant. "Yeah, I'm on it."

As he hung up, Josefina turned to him with a teasing smile. "What's the good news? It's not every day we see our no-nonsense CEO cracking a smile."

Caught between amusement and exasperation, Oliver sat beside her.

"I've heard Rowan's getting suspicious of Sydney and is digging around," he shared.

Josefina's eyes lit up. "Sydney's bound to try and block the investigation. You should clear the way so Rowan can see the real Sydney."

"I'm already on it. If Rowan wants the truth, he deserves to see it. He needs to realize how blind he's been all these years," Oliver replied, watching the koi swim happily, snapping up the food Josefina scattered.

"Last night, my grandfather passed

away. He'd shown everything we found to Rowan. I'm curious why Rowan's suddenly doubting Sydney. It's not like him to let anyone badmouth Sydney," Oliver said, a mix of scorn and irritation in his tone when Rowan's name came up.

Josefina slipped her arm through Oliver's, resting her head on his shoulder.

"He's so sure of his bond with

Sydney, even if it means losing

everyone else. He wouldn't buy into

any tumors without proof. He's

looking to clear Sydney's name," she mused.

Oliver nodded, finding her insight spot on.

He held her hand, admiring her slender fingers, thinking how they seemed

incomplete without a ring.

"Josie, you've hit the nail on the head," he agreed.

Josefina pulled her hand away, "I'm curious to see Rowan's reaction once he learns the truth."

She took out her phone, considering asking Luke to help Rowan with the investigation, making it seem like everything was falling into place naturally.

That way, Rowan would get to the bottom of things faster.

Josefina was eager to see what Rowan would do next.

"Josie, no need to involve Luke. I've already got someone handling it."

"I want him to know ASAP, just in case Sydney tries any funny business with the assets. Catching Sydney off guard is key, Oliver said, giving Josefina a gentle peck.

"You always think ahead, Josie."

Josefina: "..."

"Just say you want a kiss next time, no need to butter me up first."

Oliver chuckled, leaning in to kiss her once more.

"Alright, consider it done."

Josefina: "..."
