Chapter 924
"Livia, you've really slimmed down, haven't you lost quite a bit of weight?"
"Shedding a few pounds isn't bad, perfect excuse for a little diet."
"Girl, you're already so skinny, what are you even dieting for? You'll waste away to nothing but bones!"
The two of them giggled as they strolled into Livia's home. Josefina had arranged for a cleaning crew to tidy up the whole place and had cooked a feast before sending them off.
Once Livia got home, she took a shower, changed into her pajamas, and finally settled down to chat.
"Josie, this trip I managed to snag a couple of pieces of evidence, but who knows if they'll be any use."
Livia pulled some photos and documents from her bag and handed them over to Josefina. After looking them over, Josefina noticed that Sydney and Nichola had attended the same vocational school.
"That school claims to be all about tech training, but it's more like a full-on grooming operation. The security's intense; I barely slipped in and out in an hour. The girls who stay are handpicked. I watched for a couple of days and saw some girls being taken out for 'socials' makes you wonder if it's all about a flesh trade."
As she flipped through the documents, Josefina realized Sydney was something of a veteran there.
"Sydney's name at that school wasn't the one she uses now," Livia added.
Josefina was surprised by the depth of the situation.
"Josie, with things this complicated, shaking things up is going to be tough."
Josefina, calm and collected, replied, "If we can't stir the pot, let's hold off for now. Rowan knows Sydney's true colors and has even locked her up. Let's see how he handles it. Can he still love a woman who betrayed him for twenty years?"
Livia bit into a chicken wrap.
"Now that Sydney's exposed, and you've got Westwood's big names doing self- checks, they're definitely panicking and might strike back hard. Josie, make sure you've got some extra protection around you."
"Livia, same goes for you. Safety first, no cutting corners. I'll have Luke find a couple of tough guys to keep you safe."
"Josie, you should keep them for yourself. They haven't figured me out yet, no worries."
Josefina got up to wash her hands, then returned to peel shrimp for Livia.
"Just keep your guard up, alright?"
In these critical times, no one could afford to be careless.
Livia asked, "Nichola's in the hospital? Did she break her leg?"
"Word is,
broken. She's stuck in
bed now With Sydney detained
Dominic's too caught up to
time in the hospital isn't easy."

At that, a smirk played on Josefina's lips. Seeing Shay in trouble brought her a bit of satisfaction.
After devouring some shrimp, Livia moved on to the ribs.
"Josie, I'd love to see how much Nichola's suffering." Livia chuckled.
Meanwhile, at the hospital, Shay lay in bed, irritated by the caregiver's constant laughter from her phone, disturbing her peace.
"Can you stop laughing? It's driving me crazy!"
The caregiver glanced up, her features not exactly suited for caregiving.
"Annoyed? I've kept my phone volume low. Maybe you're just looking for trouble?"
Shay snapped, "It's your laughter I'm talking about!"
"My laughter's just how it is. If you
don't like it, free te laugh out loud I wont stop you. Gontent
