Chapter 951
Shay was taken by surprise when Sydney suddenly lost it.
"Mom, what's going on?" she asked, confusion all over her face.
Dominic paused briefly, then purposefully marched out, with Sydney hot on his heels.
Shay, still clueless about what was happening, quickly followed them.
The three of them hurried out of the hospital and drove away in a rush.
...
In the old warehouse district, Nash led Josefina and Oliver through a maze of
familiar alleys and corridors.
They moved swiftly, taking out the entrance guards with ease.
Nash guided Josefina and Oliver through the dim passageways.
When one of the goons spotted them, Oliver acted fast, taking the shot and eliminating the threat.
They were unstoppable, a force to be reckoned with.
After dealing with the guards, Nash pointed to a room at the end of the hall.
"They locked me up in there," Nash said, bitterness in his voice. "They said they'd take me to my mentor. I didn't know they wanted me to kill you."
"Nash, I get it," Josefina replied gently. "You got dragged into this because of me. It's not your fault."
Hearing Josefina, Nash felt a weight lift off his shoulders.
Josefina's expression hardened. "Let's trash this place."
Neither Oliver nor Josefina realized this was one of Sydney's strongholds.
Now that they'd found it, they couldn't let it fall back into Sydney's hands.
Oliver and Josefina exchanged a knowing look, understanding each other perfectly.
...
Before Sydney, Dominic, and Shay could reach the spot, a deafening explosion shook the area.
They arrived only to find the stronghold reduced to rubble.
Sydney clenched her fists in rage, her eyes burning with fury. "Destroyed!
Everything's gone! Josefina, I'll make you pay!"
Dominic hadn't expected Josefina and Oliver to act so quickly.
They had poured millions into this place, and now it was a ruin.
Shay suggested, "We should call the cops! They won't find anything in the wreckage anyway. I can't sleep if we don't do something!"
Dominic snapped, "Idiot! Do you
think Oliver would be so careless?
You call the cops, and they'll find out
for sure. Think about why Josefina
and Onver didn't call them. There
might be a connection between them and that madman. If you have a brain, use it wisely."
Shay ground her teeth. "Are you saying my brain's just for show?"
"Glad you're finally catching on," Dominic retorted.
Just as Shay was about to start yelling, Sydney's sharp voice cut through. "Both of you, shut up!"
Silenced, Shay and Dominic exchanged glances but held their tongues.
Sydney looked over the devastation, her anger thick in the air. "Find out if that madman has any ties with Oliver and Josefina!"
...
Josefina was in high spirits as she finally got home, the clock striking midnight. She thought everyone would be asleep, but the living room lights were still on. Tiptoeing inside, Josefina found her entire family waiting up for her.
Hattie rushed over, concern on her face. "Joşie, you're home late. Did something happen? If there's anything wrong tell us We're here to help."

Josefina's heart warmed at the sight of her family's concern. She'd just lost track of time and hadn't thought to let them know but here they were, waiting for her to return safety.
Feeling a bit sheepish, Josefina reassured them, "Mom, Dad, Dorian, Reid, you didn't have to wait up. You should get some sleep."
Garrett chuckled, "I had too much coffee today. I couldn't sleep anyway, thought I'd digest a bit."
Dorian chimed in, "Just finished some work, needed a break with a glass of water." Reid grinned, "I was hungry, came down for a midnight snack."
