Yellow was baffled. What had he done wrong now?

Aaron planned to stay at the hospital with Jenny until she was discharged, at which point they would both move into Theobald's villa. When it was time to go, Yellow caught a ride home.

"I'm leaving now," Marguerite told Aaron. "You and Jenny get some rest."

George picked up his suit jacket from the sofa and stood as well. They walked out of the room side by side.

Aaron's lip was curled so far down he could have hung a pot from it. He took out his phone and messaged Theobald.

[Theobald, is Marguerite really dating this guy?]

Theobald, still surprised by Aaron's brutishly simple solution to the Joshua problem, was glad someone had finally given that jerk a piece of their mind. He trusted Aaron's claim that there wouldn't be trouble, and even if there was, Theobald wasn't afraid.

He saw the message and replied: [Marguerite and Mr. Spencer aren't dating. It's complicated. I'll explain everything when you get home.]

Mr. Spencer?

A memory clicked in Aaron's mind, and the man's face finally connected with a name. The great philanthropist who had set up a foundation to help poor children in the slums get an education. The only reason he and Jenny had survived was because he had been able to get aid from that foundation. He was deeply grateful to the man and had even looked him up online before.

A massive wave of regret washed over Aaron. That was his benefactor, and he had just deliberately called him old. And he wasn't even dating Marguerite.

Aaron ran a hand through his hair, his eyes full of remorse.

Joshua had no one to turn to. At this hour, only the emergency room was open, but if he went to register, he was bound to run into fans. He had no choice but to find the head nurse and ask her to take a look.

The head nurse was about to end her shift when Joshua appeared, and her heart sank. What fresh new hell was he bringing now?

But when she realized he needed her to check his injuries, her mood instantly lifted. Someone out there is doing God's work, she thought, suppressing a gleeful cackle.

After a quick examination, she

concluded that whoever had beaten Joshua was a pro. They had managed to hit him in the face. without leaving a mark, though it was clearly painful. His tongue was cut, but it wasn't serious.

"It's nothing major. Your tongue will heal in a few days. Just spray some of this on it." She went to the pharmacy to get the medicine while Joshua waited at the nurse's station.

When she returned, Joshua sprayed

the medicine in his mouth and was hit by a wave of pain so intense it brought tears to his eyes. The head nurse was thrilled. She had picked the strongest, most irritating formula.

Wiping his tears, Joshua decided to head back to room 1005. Just as he left the nurse's station, he saw Marguerite and George walking toward him, side by side.

Marguerite's eyes widened, and her stomach dropped. Joshua had been a big shot at Pinecrest High-rich, handsome, and popular. Now he was a famous actor George would definitely recognize him. But surely he didn't know that she and Joshua had dated, right?

She hesitated, her gaze involuntarily flicking to George.

The next second, she felt a large, warm hand enclose hers.
