Chapter 1109
The guards dragged a television monitor into her cell and switched it on, providing a live feed of Silas's room.
The man on the screen was drenched in cold sweat, his body curling into a tight, agonizing ball. His face was contorted in unimaginable pain.
Celine clenched her fists, staring at the screen in paralyzed horror. Corvus was an absolute monster. He was actually using this sick, depraved method to force her hand.
Every time she squeezed her eyes shut, the guards physically pried them open. To ensure she couldn't look away, they wheeled in a blinding industrial spotlight and aimed it directly at her face.
She was forced to watch her father writhe, his bone-chilling screams of agony echoing from the speakers for the entire night.
By dawn, the iron door swung open. Gino walked in, observing Celine's haggard, exhausted state.
"Has your memory improved, Ms. Sherwin? Do you recall where your siblings are?"
Celine slowly raised her head. She hadn't slept a wink. Her eyes were entirely bloodshot, her face ghastly pale. In the dim light of the cell, she looked like a vengeful ghost.
She stared at him for a few seconds before a slow, unnerving smile stretched across her face. "Now that you mention it... my memory is getting a little clearer."
Gino's eyes lit up. He stepped closer eagerly. "Where are they? Tell me where the youngest one is. If you give her up, the Boss will let you walk."
"Really?" Celine forced the smile wider, her voice parched and raspy. "Is she that important?"
"Crucial," Ging nodded, unable to hide his excitement. "After countless failed trials, your parents' genes were successfully modified." You youngest sister was born from that exact modified sequence. The Boss is dying to see just how perfect that final subject turned out."
Years ago, the Boss had finally managed to harvest fertilized eggs from Silas and Theia, cultivating the first six children in an artificial womb matrik His plan had b had been to
experiment on them the moment they were born. Who could have predicted that Theia and Silas would
discover the lab, orchestrate a
massive riot, and smuggle all six infants out?
The fallout had been legendary. The Boss had been so furious he'd coughed up blood, issuing a relentless kill order for both of them. Dead or alive.
Then, the unthinkable happened. They discovered Theia was pregnant with a seventh child. The Boss, who had been spiraling after the loss of his initial subjects, was instantly revitalized. When he had first sedated them to harvest the eggs, he had administered an experimental genetic catalyst. That meant the child naturally conceived afterward was the ultimate manifestation of his work. Compared to the first six, she was
the crown jewel.
"I see," Celine murmured, her eyes narrowing. "So you want to drag her here and carve her open?"
Because of his unique genetics, their father had been tortured into a living corpse. The thought of Juniper strapped to a cold steel table, subjected to endless vivisections... Celine violently suppressed a shudder.
"Where are they?" Gino demanded impatiently.
"Come closer," Celine whispered with a weak smile. "I'll tell you. I haven't eaten in a day and a night. I can barely move."
Gino stepped right up to her, looking down with a superior sneer. "Well? Out with it." They were in a maximum-security bunker. What could a starving pregnant woman possibly do?
Celine slowly stood up. Locking eyes with him, she parted her lips and whispered...
