Chapter 1118

"Your father?" The researcher, terrified he had misheard, tentatively asked again, "Boss, you're saying this hair belongs to your father?"

"Yes." Juniper glanced back, her gaze sweeping over the transparent bag, her eyes darkening. "If the hair in that bag matches my DNA, then not only have I found my father, but I've found my mother as well."

"Huh?" The researcher was stunned. He had worked under her for over a decade. He had always heard her parents were dead, and that she had only recently reunited with her older siblings. "Congratulations, Boss!" he offered sincerely. "With a DNA test, we'll know for sure."

"Thanks." Juniper offered a faint smile and walked out.

"Juniper..." Michael and Shanley had just caught up and hadn't even had the chance to ask what was going on.

Juniper suddenly grabbed Shanley's hand. As she pulled him out the door, she called back, "Michael, keep an eye on the lab for me."

She arrived like a hurricane and left just as fast. Michael stood entirely bewildered, scratching his head as he watched them disappear. *What in the world is happening?*

Coming back to his senses, Michael rushed into the lab and let out a deafening screech the moment he heard the news.

"What?!" he yelled. "That little terror actually found her parents?"

"The Boss dropped off the hair samples herself," the technician answered

respectfully. "She never does anything unless she's sure."

"So she's ninety percent sure." Michael stared at the samples, muttering to himself, "I'm not gonna lie, I really want to meet them. I want to see exactly what kind of genetics it takes to produce a kid this terrifyingly brilliant."

"Oh, crap." Michael suddenly remembered something crucial and instantly dialed Juniper's number. "Juniper, any news on Celine?"

"She's at Sanctum Holdings," Juniper replied from the backseat of the car, her gaze freezing over. "I'm going to get her out."

And not just Celine. Her parents, too. "I'm going to save them," she repeated, almost as if trying to convince herself.

"You will, you will," Michael sighed, his voice softening. "Everyone is going to be fine. Including your parents. The tracker data has been transmitted; we're running o it to see if we can pinpoint the exact location."

After hanging up, Juniper turned her head and met Shanley's questioning gaze.

He remained silent, waiting for her to speak. Her mood had shifted

dramatically, and she had barely spoken word since leaving

Sanctum Holdings. Shanley wasn't

sure if she was ready to talk about it.

"I just realized something massive," Juniper swallowed hard, her voice hoarse. "I'm fairly certain, but I'm terrified of being wrong."

Shanley still didn't say anything, assuming it was about Celine. Was she afraid she couldn't save her sister?

"I dropped the hair off for testing," Juniper continued. "By eight o'clock tonight, I'll have the results."

"Hair?" Shanley gripped the steering wheel, his dark eyes narrowing in confusion. "Whose hair?"

"The sick man." Juniper stared unblinkingly at him, forcing a fragile smile. "I suspect he's my father."

*Screech-*

Shanley's leg jerked, instinctively slamming on the brakes. The car lurched violently forward before jerking to a halt. He whipped his head around, his deep eyes staring at the calm girl in utter disbelief. His lips parted, and he forced out the words, "Juniper, what did you just say?"

"He might be my dad." Juniper blinked, her red lips trembling slightly. "And the

woman locked next to him... might be my mom."

As she spoke, her eyes curved into crescents, and a soft, genuine smile blossomed on her face.
