Chapter 1132
Juniper looked up, studying her awkwardly defensive sister intently.
"He's young, handsome, and has a great body." Juniper leaned in, her eyes wide and innocent. "Such a perfect catch, and you just want to toss him aside?"
"He's nothing special." Coralie turned around, pinching Juniper's soft cheeks. Her eyes curved into a smile. "I've seen much better, sweetheart. It's just... I couldn't keep him."
Her voice dropped to a whisper on the last sentence, almost too quiet for Juniper to hear.
"Couldn't keep him?" Juniper's eyes widened, turning the words over in her mind. "Yeah." Coralie's smile turned incredibly bitter. She masked the agony in her heart, forcing a bright look. "He died many years ago."
"It's a long story. I'll tell you about it when we have time."
Her sister's cheeks were so soft, Coralie couldn't resist pinching them twice more. She was about to go in for a kiss when she turned and saw Shanley glaring at her like a protective wolf.
Tsk.
Coralie lifted her chin. She couldn't be bothered to pick a fight with him right now. After all.
He was about to be 'killed off' by her little sister anyway.
"Drive safe," Shanley said to his driver, tossing him the keys.
"Mm." Shanley nodded, then cupped Juniper's face and kissed her before he left.
Juniper looked a bit dazed, gently pushing his hands away as a flush crept up her cheeks.
What was he doing?
Coralie was right there!
"I'm off," Shanley said, pulling back in time to bid Coralie a polite farewell.
"Yeah, yeah." Coralie waved dismissively, watching him leave.
The moment the man stepped out, Coralie rushed over and tackled Juniper in a hug.
"Ahhh, give me a kiss! Mwah, mwah, mwah..."
Juniper froze, her brain temporarily short-circuiting.
In the living room.
Coralie sat on the sofa with Juniper, listening carefully to the plan.
"Hethed a sigh of relief.
"He's going to dive out early?"
Coralie
"Thank God. Falling off a bridge is incredibly dangerous." .net>
"Mm."
Juniper sat with her legs pulled up, her chin resting on her knees, staring blankly at the TV screen.
She had no idea what was playing.
"Juniper..." Noticing her distraction, Coralie gently took her hand. "It's going to be okay. Everything will turn out fine."
"Mm." Juniper nodded, answering seriously, "Everything will turn out fine."
Just as she spoke, her phone rang.
It was the Subterra Vanguard.
Michael spoke up, "Juniper, according to your plan, our people have started tailing Shanley."
"Who did you send?"
"Luella," Michael said firmly. "The people from Sanctum Holdings recognize her, so she's the perfect person for the job."
"Good." Juniper pinched the bridge of her nose, suddenly remembering something. "Make sure the car causing the accident tomorrow has avery obvious logo on its content
Didn't those old fools from Sanctum Holdings want a show?
She'd give them one to remember!
"Don't worry about that, I'll oversee it personally. There won't be any
mistakes." Michael sighed softly. "As soon as the brash happens the
Vanguard will start targeting the Sigma Network's businesses."
"You'll need to give Shanley a heads-up so his subordinates don't freak out."
"I will," Juniper said, a faint smile touching her lips. "Thanks for your hard work. I'll
contact Luella now."
After hanging up.
Juniper immediately dialed Luella's video call.
It connected quickly.
The camera was pointed straight at the back of Shanley's car.
