Chapter 1157
His mother-in-law wasn't happy with him?
"Don't worry." Seeing his anxiety, Juniper's lips curved into a smile as she reassured him, "Considering how hard you fought, I'll put in a good word for you."
"Alright," Shanley chuckled lightly, let out a long sigh, and said, "Thank you, Ms. Payne."
"Just this once."
Juniper pulled back the covers and lay down next to Shanley.
Exhausted.
The girl quickly drifted off to sleep.
Because she had things weighing on her mind, she didn't sleep soundly, murmuring in her sleep.
"?" Shanley was in too much pain to sleep, so he leaned in to hear what she was saying.
"Don't die."
"Please don't die, Shanley."
Hearing those words, all the pain in Shanley's body vanished instantly.
She was even dreaming about him?
It was all worth it!
Subterra Vanguard.
Juniper found time to return to the main base.
"Juniper, is Mr. Schwartz alright?" The mentors immediately asked when they saw her.
"Michael, you seem quite concerned about him," Juniper sat on the sofa, crossing her legs, and smiled lazily.
"I'm not worried about him, I'm worried about you." Michael sighed, speaking bluntly. "If something happens to him, you'll be a widow."
No one knew her temperament better than he did.
She was hard to win over, and incredibly stubborn.
Once she committed her heart, it was for life.
"Gee, thanks," Juniper's mouth twitched, offering a sarcastic smile.
"I have to say, Mr. Schwartz is a real man." Michael sighed heavily,
scratching his head, "Back the nex
thought he was a scammer so lat conned him out of a lot of money."
"Looking back on it now, I feel terrible!"
"Really?" Juniper narrowed her eyes, slowly pulled out her phone, and opened her payment QR code. "Since you feel so guilty, pay it back."
"?" Michael immediately looked away, asking the other mentors, "Are the people
being sent to Sanctum Holdings all picked out?"
"Why aren't they here yet? I'll go check myself!"
Michael vanished in a flash.
"Tch." Juniper tossed her phone back into her pocket and walked over to Luella. "How is the body double coming along?"
"Built precisely to match your
disguised face, identical. I guarantee Corvus won't spot any flaws." Luella said with absolute confidence. "Among the people we sent in, theres a master hacker. Once they get on the computers inside, they'll find Sanctum Holdings' exact coordinates in no time."
"Juniper, we need to prepare in advance."
"This war with Sanctum Holdings will be just like when Subterra Vanguard and
Sigma Network clashed head-on!"
"The fallout will be massive. Who knows how many people will die."
Die?
Juniper looked at the list of names on the computer, her expression growing somber.
Everyone has a mother who raised them.
How could she trade other people's lives for her family's safety?
"Get ready." Juniper thought for a few seconds, her lips parting. "For this operation, I'm leading the team myself."
"No." Luella was the first to object, her face turning cold. "If something happens to you, what happens to Subterra Vanguard?"
"Aren't you and the mentors still here?" Juniper patted Luella's shoulder, smiling softly. "If I go, I can guarantee I'll bring everyone back."
Luella choked on her words.
Juniper never made empty boasts, but this plan was far too dangerous.
How did she intend to pull it off?!
"Does the old fox know?" Luella knew she couldn't talk her out of it, so she carefully
brought up Shanley. "Will he say no?"
"I don't know." Juniper popped a
mango candy into her mouth, raised an eyebrow, and smiled wickedly
"So what if he knows? He can't
control me anyway!"
Luella was speechless. She really shouldn't have asked.
