Chapter 1314
"Jimmie, are you serious?"
Clark picked up his phone, practically ready to fall to his knees, utterly frantic. "Please, don't!"
He had just taken a nap, and when he woke up, the sky was falling?!
"Just book the flight first."
Jimmie pressed his lips together, his voice hoarse. "You've been working hard lately. Take a few days off."
"I'm not tired."
Clark's heart was trembling as he stuttered, "Jimmie, why is this happening?"
"I fell in love with someone who wouldn't be accepted." Jimmie had no intention of hiding it from Clark. His tone was serious and low. "I don't want her to get hurt."
"Huh?"
Clark held his phone, completely bewildered.
Loved by Jimmie?
And not accepted?
Who could it be!
Stellara Country.
After nearly a twenty-hour flight, Luella arrived at the Executive Residence in a daze.
"Luella, you're back?"
Jared Langley had been sitting by the door waiting. Seeing her, he immediately scrambled up and ran over eagerly. "Let me take your luggage."
"Didn't I tell you to stay away from me?" Luella pulled a long face and said coldly.
"You did." Jared's smile froze. He stared at her cautiously, his voice trembling. "But I missed you."
Seeing him look like he was about to cry, Luella couldn't bring herself to be harsh. She just dragged her suitcase and kept walking.
"Megan made ravioli for you." Jared followed shamelessly, keeping a safe distance, and yelled, "I helped make them too, they're super delicious."
Physically and mentally exhausted, Luella didn't have the energy to deal with him.
"Are you in a bad mood?" Jared leaned closer, asking worriedly. "Is someone bullying you? Just tell me who it is, and I'll find someone to take care of them."
Luella stopped and stared deeply at Jared, unable to describe the feeling in her heart.
Warmth?
Maybe just a little.
"You?" Luella scoffed. "Little brat, someone could kick you away with one hit."
"I wouldn't do it myself, I'd hire someone Jared pulled out his phone, pulled up his bank balance, and said with utmost seriousness,
hire an international hitman. I can definitely get them killed."
"Cough, cough..."
Luella choked on her own spit, barely suppressing a laugh.
He was pretty smart, actually.
"I heard you secured the partnership with the Schwartz Group."

"Mhm."
"I'm so happy for you." Jared grinned broadly. "It would be great if you could take the
Executive Chief's seat."
"Why?"
Luella asked with a half-smile.
"Because then you'd be the most
powerful
person in our family, andet
no one would dare bully you," Jared answered earnestly. Not even Dad!":
Hearing this, Luella's smile stiffened, and her throat felt dry.
After a few seconds of silence, Luella took a box out of her suitcase and tossed it to him. "It's hard to use, so you can have it."
"A drone?"
Jared hugged the box, his eyes lighting up. "How did you know I wanted a drone?"
It was a shame that defending Luella last time had angered his mother and sister. His allowance had been cut off.
"Who cares what you want."
Luella glared at him, impatiently shooing him away. "Now take it and get out. Go, go,
go!"
"Will do!"
Jared chuckled, happily leaving with his gift.
The room grew quiet.
Luella put down her fork and turned her phone back on.
