"Back to Australis?" Juniper asked, her eyes narrowing curiously. "That's fine. I haven't met your wife yet. You should bring her back for a visit.” She had heard her voice on the phone once; she sounded like a very gentle woman.

His wife? The title made Harold's heart ache, and his smile turned weary. "Soon, she won't be."

“?” Juniper stared at him, confused. "Why?" she asked instinctively.

"You're too young to understand these things," Harold sighed, his voice gentle. "Go on, head inside."

Juniper watched him, a complicated feeling stirring within her. Was he the one asking for a divorce, or was his wife leaving him? But judging by his dejected look, he was probably the one being dumped. Oh well. She decided not to pour salt on his wound. Taking her bag, she slung it over her shoulder, stuffed her hands in her pockets, and strode coolly toward the campus.

“Juniper, what are you talking about?" Qadir's cheeks flushed as he glanced at Queenie beside him. “Let her tell them," he mumbled awkwardly.

"I..." She looked down, her face bright red, stammering and unable to get the words out.

"I'll say it." Qadir couldn't wait any longer and stood up. “Queenie and I are dating!”
