A little after nine in the morning. Arabella went to the inpatient department and ran into Linda and Melinda by the elevators.
Arabella glanced at the two with an indifferent expression and turned to walk towards another elevator.
“Dr. Palmer,”
In her urgency, Linda blocked Arabella’s path.
Arabella lowered her gaze to Linda’s abdomen and reminded her in a cold voice: “Mrs. Caldwell, there is a high-definition security camera just above you to your left. I suggest you know when to stop!”
Linda hurriedly explained, “Dr. Palmer, you’ve misunderstood me. I was wrong before. I was deceived by Georgina and deliberately gave you a hard time, but I’ve come to my senses now. Georgina brought this on herself, she deserves what she got.”
Linda humbled herself: “Dr. Palmer, I promise I will never cause you trouble again. Could you please help me put in a good word with Mr. Melendez and ask him not to terminate the partnership with the Caldwell group?”
Arabella’s expression was serious as she reminded Linda, “I have nothing to do with Mr. Melendez anymore. I can’t help you.”
After saying that, Arabella walked straight into the elevator.
Weekend.
Arabella invited Zachary and Lily Hamilton over to her house.

Lily immediately spotted Blaire lounging leisurely on the Palmer family’s sofa, scaring Blaires much that he fled back next door wearing only one slipper.
Zachary was at his wit’s end with his sister: “Arabella, maybe you should have Lily over less often. Her personality is a headache for everyone.”
Arabella, however, found Lily’s personality to be outgoing and cute: “Zachary, don’t be so dramatic. Lily has a great personality.”
Arabella checked the time and asked Zachary to stay for a game of poker in the afternoon.
As soon as Zachary agreed, Arabella quickly got on the phone to round people up.
Seeing Edmundo walk out of a room, Zachary couldn’t help but look at Arabella: “This kid…?”
Arabella explained. “It’s the weekend, I brought him over to liven things up.”
When Edmundo saw Zachary, he walked over to greet him: “Hello, Uncle Zachary~”
Zachary picked Edmundo up: “Why didn’t your dad come visit with you?”
Edmundo replied with a straight face: “Uncle Zachary, I’m not a guest, you know. Godmother said her home is my home.”
Zachary said to Arabella: “See? This little guy is even sharper than his dad.”
As the two were laughing and talking, Samuel arrived. With Blaire, that made exactly four people. Lily and Emmett watched from the side with Edmundo.
“Blaire, let me switch seats with you,” Arabella insisted on playing opposite Samuel.
Edmundo comforted Arabella, “Godmother, you really need to practice your poker skills. I’ll have my dad teach you some other day.”
Arabella was mortified.
Who would have thought that she, a top student from a prestigious medical school, couldn’t even win at Solitaire against a six or seven-year-old child.
Edmundo put a snack from his hand into Arabella’s mouth: “Godmother, I was just kidding. As long as you’re happy, it’s fine. If you lose, I’ll have my dad pay.”
Blaire was envious: “Edmundo, why don’t you be my godson? If I lose, you can have your dad pay for me.”

Samuel filmed a short video and posted it to his moments.
A few minutes later, Jayceon came across Samuel’s moments post while scrolling.
In the video, Arabella’s parents were in the open-plan kitchen cutting fruit, while Arabella, Zachary, and a few others were playing poker; Edmundo sat beside her, feeding her snacks.
It wasn’t clear what the child said, but Arabella was laughing with pure delight.
Jayceon played the video over and over, watching it again and again.
It used to be just as warm and lively whenever he visited the Palmer family.
