The Man Who Destroyed Me Is Now Begging to Mend Me 66
Sophia’s look of superiority and mocking little smirk made Emily’s blood boil.
She balled her fists tighter, thinking. ‘One way or another, I’m going to wipe that smug grin off her face.”
Emily whipped out her phone, opened up her photo album, and dangled it right in front of Sophia.
She said, “Look who this is. What if I blasted these pics of Annabelle’s bruised face all over my social media for everyone to gawk at? Think she’d ever be able to show her face among the upper class again?”
Sophia stared at the photos on the phone. Annabelle’s face was swollen and distorted, almost unrecognizable.
Her heart shattered with pain, and she couldn’t hold back her tears anymore.
She thought, ‘It was all because of me that Annabelle got beaten up by Lucas. I’m gonna kill them!‘
Suddenly, Sophia snapped and lunged at her. “Give me that phone!”
Emily caught the crazed, twisted look on Sophia’s face and felt a chill deep down, but she still sneered, “Why should I hand my phone over to you? I want the whole damn world to see Annabelle’s shame-”
But before she could even finish, Sophia was already charging straight at her. Emily had been bracing for this and darted quickly out of reach.
Sophia missed her, but didn’t even pause. She grabbed the golf club sitting next to the TV stand and started smashing everything she could reach. Then she jabbed it right at Emily.
“Are you giving it to me or not? If you don’t, you’ll end up just like all this junk!” Sophia screamed, her voice raw, her eyes blazing red with fury.
Emily knew Sophia meant business, so without a second thought, she snatched up her phone and made a break for the door.
Sophia charged after her with that golf club in hand, swinging recklessly at Emily’s back like she didn’t care about anything else.
Emily darted left and right like a panicked rabbit, but no matter how fast she moved, she still caught a few hits, each one sending a jolt of pain that made her want to scream.
Emily clung to Lucas from behind, yanking up her sleeve and shoving her bruised arm right in his face.
“Lucas, Sophia’s totally lost her mind. She beat me up. I’ve got bruises all over,” Emily wailed.
Lucas looked down and saw ugly bruises blooming across Emily’s pale arm. His chest tightened with a pang of guilt and
worry.
He fixed Sophia with a steely glare and said, “How long are you planning to keep up this chaos, Sophia? Is it really impossible for you to just let things be, instead of turning this whole house upside down every single day?”
Sophia let out a dark, twisted smile, aiming the golf club straight at him. “With you two shameless brats here, I’ll sure neither of you get a moment’s rest!”
Lucas was seething with rage. He gritted his teeth and then walked toward Sophia.
Sophia’s gaze was icy, and without a hint of hesitation, she swung the golf club straight at his head.
She thought, ‘If I smash this bastard’s skull in, he’ll never get the chance to hurt me again.
But Sophia never managed to bash in Lucas’s head. He dodged the blow, took the club full on his arm with a grunt, and then grabbed hold of it, yanking it with brute force until it slipped from her grasp.
Sophia fought with everything she had, but she hadn’t expected Lucas to play so dirty. Thrown off balance, she staggered backward, and then crashed hard onto the floor.
Her elbow got scraped raw across the cold tiles, and before she even had time to react, Lucas planted his foot firmly on the golf club.
Her fingers were trapped underneath, agony radiating from her hand through her whole body, and cold sweat broke out on her forehead.
Lucas acted like he couldn’t care less about her pain, looming over Sophia with that cold, condescending stare.
He said, “Looks like what happened to Annabelle wasn’t enough of a lesson for you, Sophia. You get off on violence, right? Fine, let’s see how much of it you can really take.”
Sophia’s whole body shuddered. She looked up and met Lucas’s deep, merciless eyes. A cold dread surged from her chest and swept through every inch of her body.
The next second, Lucas slammed his foot into her, launching her clear across the floor.
