Chapter 382
Chapter 382 PR Work
Jethro’s face fell. “You can’t do this.”
“It’s getting late. Go home. I’m fine, so don’t worry about me.” Elspeth shoved him away and waved him
goodbye. I need to stay away from him.
Jethro didn’t push her as well. Courting Elspeth needed time. He said a listless goodbye and left with
the medicines. When he came across the first trash can, Jethro glanced at the medicines and tossed
them into the bin. This is useless.
…
Elspeth had a nightmare that night. In her nightmare, Jethro was choking her, his eyes red with lust and
his body tense. He was trying to assault her, and in the end, she was forced to marry him. Elspeth
woke up with a start, her forehead drenched in sweat. She touched her head, her heart still thumping
wildly.
It was just a dream, but Jethro could be crazy enough to do that. I need to come up with a plan in case
that happens. She got up and made herself a toast, then it was time for work. However, when she got
to the car park, she saw Jethro looking refreshed, and he had a big smile on his face.
“Moring, Elsie. Your loyal guard is here to take you to work.”
Scared by the dream, Elspeth didn’t really want to see him. “I know, but I’m not going with you.”
“That makes your sixty-sixth refusal. I’m used to it.” He turned around and extended his arm. “Will you
come with me today, my lovely lady?”
“Stop flirting. It’s giving me goosebumps.” Elspeth wanted to toss her toast on his face.
For once, Jethro wasn’t upset. Instead, his smile got bigger. “Have you seen the news?”
Elspeth hadn’t. She spent her morning dressing herself up for work, but she lied, “Yeah, yeah.”
“What do you think, then?” Jethro looked expectant.
“Happy news, good news. Everyone loves it. What else?”
“So, you agree?”
Wait. Something’s off. She asked, “What do you mean?”
“Oh. So, you haven’t read the news.” Jethro looked down, dejected.
Surprised, Jethro said, “Are you going to take back your decision?”
