Chapter 250:

I wanted to rush to them at the speed of light, but I forced myself to compose. Calm down, Damon. He must be joking.

“If you dare mess with me, I’ll have your head hung in my sitting room alongside other artworks. It will be displayed as a mere decoration, and I will never take it down,” I threatened, grabbing a fistful of his shirt and growling in his face.

Satisfaction filled me when I saw how his soul seemed to almost leave his body.

“What did you say their names were again?” I asked, needing to erase any trace of doubt.

I wanted to be sure that I wasn’t just experiencing one of my episodes of hallucinations. The last thing I wanted was for anyone to know that I see things.

“Join me at the West side of the gate this instant!” I mind-linked Jasper.

I took deep breaths, trying to calm my raging nerves, but it wasn’t working.

“Aurora, Devin, and Dax. Most of the guards don’t know them, since they’re new, so we held them for interrogation,” he confirmed.

Aurora?

I thought she was dead.

How did she survive in the woods by herself?

I didn’t know what to feel about her… and Devin… Dax? This was unbelievable.

Despite the anxiety consuming me, I silently prayed to the Moon Goddess, hoping this would be real. I couldn’t wait to have my brothers back and rule alongside them.

“Take me to them immediately! But don’t mess with me!” I ordered, using my Alpha tone as I allowed him to lead the way while I followed closely behind.

My heart raced as we neared the gate. I couldn’t contain my excitement, nearly running in my haste. It took every ounce of self-control not to dash to the gate. I didn’t want to be seen as desperate.

Please, be true. Please, be true.

I prayed silently, glancing at the moon glowing brightly in the sky.

“Here they are, My King,” he said, opening the door to one of the guard’s offices.

“Bow down to greet the King!” One of the guards inside the room ordered.

As soon as the door flung open, a mixture of scents—petrichor, musk, honey, peach, lavender, and vanilla—hit my nostrils, and I froze in shock, staring at them.

“My King,” Jasper called, but I wasn’t in the right frame of mind to reply to him. All that mattered were the three figures standing before me.

“Holy crap! Are they real?” Jasper screamed, touching Aurora, Devin, and Dax’s bodies in shock.

“Your Majesty, your brothers,” Jasper said when he found his voice, excitement washing over him.

“Devin, Dax,” I muttered, rushing toward them and throwing myself into their arms, overwhelmed with emotion. I squeezed them to me as if afraid to lose them again.

“Nothing will separate us again,” I said through tears, my voice shaking.

“I thought you were captured and killed. I thought I would never see you again,” I sobbed harder, pulling them even closer to inhale their familiar scent.

“I’m sorry I couldn’t protect you. I had to fight so we wouldn’t all get killed. Forgive me.”
