Chapter 289:

She was done playing along, especially after wiping the evidence from his device. His constant demands were driving her mad.

She wasn’t going to give in to his commands. She had authority too. She was the mistress.

“Trust me, you don’t want to refuse,” he said, letting out a hearty laugh.

“I have information that will ruin you. It involves the Alpha Kings and their late Luna. Now tell me, Rosa Pierce, will you spread your legs for me or not? Time is ticking.”

Unknown

Rosa stood there, dazed and thrown into a state of confusion. With one hand on her hip and the other on her chin, she thought about Ray’s words before suddenly bursting into laughter.

“All lies and empty threats,” she thought.

She wasn’t moved by his threats, except for one thing that lingered in her mind.

“How were you able to get past the security?” she asked, her breath shaky as she pinned him with a sharp, mean glare.

She despised him. He was the unwelcome guest who filled her days with dread and her nights with sleepless nightmares. She couldn’t wait to regain her sanity.

“Let’s not go into that, little mouse,” he replied calmly, the corner of his lips twitching with excitement.

Rosa nearly exploded with rage as anger burned inside her like an inferno. It grew dangerously wild with every passing second.

She could feel the heat radiating from her body, as though a cloud of smoke was emanating from her in waves.

“Don’t ever call me that again. It’s not your place!” she warned him sharply, pointing her finger at him with a scowl etched on her face.

“Okay, little mouse,” he teased, smirking as he watched her face redden with fury.

It gave him immense satisfaction to see her so frustrated. It made him feel powerful, in control.

She was like a dog— all bark and no bite.

He had all the evidence against her.

Stupid Rosa!

She was a fool to think he wasn’t recording them. She was a snake, untrustworthy and cunning—slippery like an eel. He couldn’t afford to let his guard down around her.

“I need you to answer my question,” Ray said, his voice calm despite her threats. “Or are there other people in here who helped you get into my room?”

“Relax, little mouse. It’s just me,” Ray chuckled, his hands falling to his lap.

“I would’ve loved to watch you sleep peacefully. You look so beautiful when you sleep, but too bad, you stirred and woke me up,” he continued.

Rosa hissed when her gaze met his arousal, twitching as if it understood the situation.

“I missed you,” Ray said with a sly grin, but Rosa shut him up with a scowl.

“I’m not in the mood. Leave,” she ordered in a low but firm voice, tightening the belt of her robe as it started to loosen.

“Not until I get what I want,” he retorted, spreading his legs on the bed, making Rosa feel disgusted. “If you don’t want it willingly, I’ll have to take it forcefully!” His voice was full of possessiveness, desire, and urgency.
