Chapter 356:

My spirit shattered, and I sobbed harder.

Escaping was useless; the room was pitch black. I didn’t even know where I was or what the room looked like.

I tried to adjust my vision, but my wolf was too weak. For the second time, I felt completely alone.

Fear gripped me as the smell of death filled the air.

I couldn’t deceive myself—there was no room for escape, and I had little time left.

My cries grew louder.

The thought that my mates were expecting me home broke my heart even more. How would they react to the news of my death? Especially Damon.

To think that we had just reconciled.

I couldn’t believe the triplets were about to lose their mate for the second time. I couldn’t imagine the grief and pain they would endure, especially considering Damon’s emotional fragility.

I feared he would become… the Mad King again, hallucinating and speaking to people who weren’t there.

This would put immense pressure on his Beta, who would have to console the brothers while managing the affairs of the other packs to keep everything running smoothly.

Deep down, I was terrified. I knew that my death would push Damon to commit suicide, and there would be nothing I could do to stop it.

Maybe I should have accepted his request to travel to my parents’ pack with more than ten bodyguards. But I had dismissed his suggestion. Now, everyone would suffer because of it. Not only would the triplets lose their mate for the second time, but my parents would lose their daughter again.

A surge of anger hit me like a hammer.

Was the Moon Goddess playing with our feelings?

Why was our happiness always short-lived? Did she curse us? Why did the Moon Goddess shower us with happy moments only to take them away when she knew they wouldn’t last?

Fueling my anger, I felt my body grow stronger.

Taking a deep breath, I felt a surge of energy and began to struggle against the ropes, screaming and jerking violently in an attempt to loosen them.

“Save your strength. You’ll die anyway.” A voice echoed from the darkness.

“Who is there?” I asked, jumping in fright. My heartbeat raced, pounding in my ears.

Who said that?

I tried to scan the area, but nothing came into view.

Sweat trickled down my face, and my body began to tremble. Another clap sounded from the darkness, startling me as shivers ran down my spine.

Aurora

The sound of footsteps broke the eerie silence that hung in the room. The atmosphere shifted, and a deadly aura swept through the air, signaling danger. I didn’t need a soothsayer to tell me that my killer was near. But despite the darkness, I could sense a trace of familiarity in the strange figure that approached me.

Who could it be?

Dim light flooded the room, and the figure came into full view. My eyes widened, and my jaw dropped in shock. My heartbeat accelerated at an unimaginable pace, and my face went blank with confusion.
