Chapter 81
Chapter 81:
My eyes caught sight of a large machine beside the bed where I lay.
“Oh!” I exclaimed weakly, realizing that the beeping sounds came from it.
I tried to touch it, but something restricted my hand.
It wasn’t a rope—it was an IV drip.
My heart did a quick flip as I saw the drips being injected into my hand.
I was in the hospital?
How the hell did I get here?
My mind went blank, and panic slowly crept into my chest.
The last thing I remembered was admiring the interiors of my room… then…
A deep frown settled on my face as fragments of memories flashed through my mind.
My eyes widened, almost popping out of their sockets as realization hit me.
I had tried to take my life, but I was saved.
Fuck!
Who saved me?
Did the person find the wolfsbane?
I was in trouble, no doubt.
Lost in my thoughts, I didn’t notice when the door flung open, revealing a distressed-looking Alex, worry etched on her face.
Apart from my parents and Eve, no one had ever been concerned about me.
Was I really that important to her?

“Nurse!” she called excitedly, rushing to open the door for another woman dressed in white to enter.
“She’s moving.”
Silently, I watched the nurse check my vitals and scribble something on a notepad before pausing to examine me.
“How are you feeling?” she asked in a friendly tone, making me feel somewhat relaxed under her touch.
“I’m fine,” I stammered, struggling as strength eluded me.
“It’s okay. You still need to relax,” she instructed, gently pushing me back into the bed. I exchanged a glance with Alex.
“Do you feel pain anywhere? You can talk to me; I don’t bite,” she smiled, revealing her perfect teeth. Her aura was so friendly that I melted under her touch.
“My head is pounding. It feels like it’s about to split open,” I managed to say, shutting my eyes before rubbing them.
A brief smile flashed my way again before she focused on jotting down her observations in her large notebook.
“Is there anything else you want to share? Please, don’t hold back.”
“I feel extremely weak, and I’m in unbearable pain in my eyes because of the headache,” I said breathlessly as fatigue overwhelmed me.
“I’m sorry for that, ma’am. I will prescribe some medication that should make you feel better. If there’s anything else you would like me to know, please don’t hesitate,” she said, flashing a charming smile before leaving.
