Chapter 883
After all that fuss, it turned out Celia was just trying to wingman for her. Leonie quickly shook her head. "No, no, it's fine."
The handsome waiter was very perceptive. Seeing the two girls playfully pushing each other, he instantly caught on.
"If you're satisfied with the service, feel free to leave us a good review. You can also add me on Facebook. Next time you come in, I can reserve a VIP table for you in advance."
It was a flawless excuse, much smoother and harder to reject than just bluntly asking for a number.
So, Leonie pulled out her phone. Celia only made a symbolic gesture of checking hers.
The guy was incredibly tactful, only adding Leonie's account.
"Remember to save us a spot next time."
As they left, Celia threw out a teasing comment that made Leonie blush furiously.
Leonie's flush hadn't faded since they walked out of the restaurant. Celia was sharper than she let on. "Since you and Connor are going through a rough patch, there's no need to hang yourself on one tree."
Honestly, Celia wasn't necessarily pushing Leonie to seriously date the server. A change of pace and a new distraction were better than being depressed every day.
"Leonie, you treated us to dinner. How about we treat you to a lounge tonight? We haven't checked out the Greenvale nightlife yet."
Chris shot them a flat look.
"Can I skip the bar tonight?"
He hated loud, obnoxious environments. Celia looked so quiet and refined on the outside; he had no idea when she had developed a taste for those chaotic places.
Celia looked at Chris. "No way. If you go back without me, Gwyneth will definitely ask where I am. If she finds out I went to a club, she'll lecture me again. You have to come."
Celia practically shoved Chris into the car. The three of them piled into a luxurious black SUV. Standing by the restaurant entrance, the server watched them leave, his gaze dropping to the license plate.
The custom string of nines made his eyes darken slightly.
An arm slung over his shoulder. "What, you know them?"
Dorian Fletcher turned his head, his expression icy. "No."
He stripped off his uniform on the spot and tossed it straight into the other guy's chest.
"This is the last time I'm covering your shift. Don't call me for this kind of favor again. You know damn well the smoke in there messes with my allergies."
As he turned to leave, the guy grabbed his arm.
"Hey, hey, why are you acting like that? I saw those girls practically drooling over you. Did you see that SUV Suy that greasily a million dollar nde. And that vanity plate. You don't see those in Greenvale very often."
Dorian shot him a sharp glare.
"If you like them so much, go after them yourself."
The guy muttered under his breath, "Biting the hand that feeds you. I girls like that would look twice at me, you think I'd be wasting my breath
on you
Blame my parents for this
face."
By the time he finished, Dorian had already strapped on his helmet, revved his two-
million-dollar motorcycle, and roared off into the distance.
To keep the night going, the trio decided not to head back yet.
Gwyneth called to check in, and Celia decided to stick to the lie, forcing Leonie to cover for them.
"Gwyn, I'm taking them around a bit more. You go to bed early. If it gets too late, I'll just take them to crash at my place."
Gwyneth's mind was still on
Hawthorne Everhart mentioning be was heading to The High Sierras to
help McNell find a Folk Healer. She
wasn't too worried about them staying out.
"Alright, just don't stay out too late."
Hawthorne was in the kitchen, preparing all of Gwyneth's favorite dishes. Lately, he rarely went to the office, preferring to stay home and cater to his pregnant wife.
