Chapter 888
Chris scoffed. "I don't date because if I ran into clueless women like you, I'd rather just stay single.
"Why go through all this trouble for a guy? If I were a woman and a guy didn't like me, I'd just replace him. Why act so neurotic and lower your own standards?"
Chris's words hit a little too close to home. Leonie's expression shifted slightly, and under the table, Celia immediately kicked Chris in the shin.
"If you don't want to listen, you can tune it out. No one asked for your opinion. Leonie, ignore him. He's just begging for a beating. Let's not bring this ungrateful jerk next time we go out."
Leonie and Celia continued to whisper to each other, acting all secretive.
Over at his booth, Connor sat quietly nursing his drink, but his friends couldn't handle the tension anymore.
"Look, just drop the act. You obviously like the Everhart heiress, Boss. Didn't you see her flirting with that waiter?
"And that young, handsome guy next to her? Aren't you worried? You're not going to find another girl as good as her anytime soon.
"If you're too proud, we can go apologize for you. It's not that deep."
Connor downed the rest of his glass in one shot.
"Are you guys done? I came out to drink and have a good time, not get lectured by
you idiots. If you're going to keep nagging, get the hell out."
Seeing that Connor was genuinely pissed, they all went dead silent.
Leonie, Celia, and Chris waited for nearly twenty minutes before Dorian finally appeared.
He had changed into his regular clothes—a crisp white button-down, black trousers, and a light gray trench coat. With his slightly messy hair, deep hazel eyes, and long lashes, he looked striking.
When he looked at someone, his gaze held a mesmerizing, brooding quality. Against the club lighting, his skin looked almost luminous.
Seeing him dressed like this, even Celia was slightly stunned. Chris just smirked and muttered under his breath, "A pair of absolute fangirls."
Without waiting for Dorian to react Chris headed straight to the bar to pay the tab, tossed his jacket over
his shoulder, and walked toward t
exit.
Snapping back to reality, Celia gave Leonie a gentle nudge or rather, a solid shove, sending her straight into Dorian's chest.
Dorian instinctively reached out, wrapping an arm around Leonie's waist to catch her before she fell.
Honestly, a face like Dorian's was incredibly rare. Even someone as composed as Leonie felt a deep blush rush to her cheeks.
"Shall we go? I still don't know your name."
Dorian asked with perfect gentlemanly charm. Leonie's cheeks burned as she replied, "Leonie Everhart."
"Dorian Fletcher..."
After introducing himself, Dorian chivalrously grabbed Leonie's purse and naturally took her hand to lead her out.
At that moment, Leonie was entirely captivated by Dorian's striking face, completely oblivious to the fact that
her hand was interlaced with celoet
Over at Connor's table, his buddies' jaws practically hit the floor.
"They're leaving just like that? Look, Connor, the Everhart heiress just got swept away."
"So women really are that fickle. I thought Leonie was different. The second a guy shows up looking just alittle bit better than the Boss, she leaves with him. Unbelievable."
