Chapter 925

The brutal assault lasted three full hours. For every grueling minute, Leonie was held down, forced to listen to the atrocities without a moment's reprieve.

With every muffled scream that tore from Dorian's throat, Felicia's face twisted further into madness, until she eventually grew entirely numb to the sound, showing no reaction at all.

When the hellish torture finally ended, the door creaked open. Dorian was dragged out and dumped at Felicia's feet like a corpse.

Leonie couldn't bring herself to look at him directly. His lower half was soaked in blood. The crimson stains covering his legs were a horrific sight.

He tried to speak, but his body gave out, and he lost consciousness.

Felicia glanced at him, turned her head away, and locked her gaze on Leonie.

"Do you see this, Miss Everhart? This is your masterpiece. Are you satisfied?"

Leonie trembled uncontrollably. She had never witnessed anything so horrific. She collapsed against the floor, paralyzed with shock.

Felicia stood up and gestured to her men. "We're leaving."

"You can't just leave him like this!" Leonie shrieked, desperate.

"Look at him! He's bleeding out! If you don't get a doctor, he's going to die in here!"

Leonie was too terrified to even look at the carnage. Felicia merely chuckled.

"I seriously wonder how you've survived this long in the real world. Why should I care if he dies? Besides, you're the one locked in here with him. If he dies, you'll be the one living with the guilt."

Felicia pressed a finger to her lips, shushing her. Leonie was entirely helpless, forced to watch Dorian bleed out on the cold floor.

She never imagined Felicia could be this vicious. They had been together for years, yet she tossed him to the wolves without a shred of mercy, intent on destroying him.

Abandoning the last of her pride, Leonie begged, "I'm begging you... please let him go."

Felicia smiled thinly.

"You never should have begged me. Or rather, if you knew it would end like this, you shouldn't have played savior. You wanted to rescue him, and all you did was destroy him. I'm done playing with you, little girl."

With that, Felicia turned and walked out of the basement without a second glance. The heavy door locked, trapping them in the suffocating scent of fresh blood. Dorian lay completely unresponsive. No matter how much Leonie shook him, he didn't stir.

Finally, she broke down in hysterical sobs.

She had only wanted to save this man from his personal hell, but her interference had been his undoing.

That night, Dorian began to groan in the dark. Leonie crawled over to him and realized he was burning up with a severe fever. He was shaking. violently, clearly in excruciating aggay. He defted into

consciousness for a brief moment, but before Leonie could speak, he passed out again.

This cycle repeated for hours. Leonie didn't sleep a wink. She wanted to comfort him, but she was too terrified to touch his festering wounds Sometime after midnight the bleeding finally began to lot. When he groaned again, she rushed to his side, tears streaming down her face.

Dorian coughed, spitting up a mouthful of blood. He looked at her, trying to move, but his body was completely broken. Leonie leaned in close to catch his raspy, fragmented whisper.

"I'm sorry, Legnie. I dragged you into this. You were never supposed to be here. I was stupid enough to believe Felicia when she said she'd let me walk away and leave you alone. She made me call you to lure you here. If I had known she would do this, I never would have made that call. I'm so sorry. This is all my fault."

He apologized to her over and over again.

Leonie wept until she could barely breathe.

"It's my fault I couldn't save you. Don't blame yourself."

Dorian soon lost consciousness again. Leonie knew that if Felicia didn't send help

soon, Dorian wouldn't survive the night.

She screamed into the PA system.

"Felicia! Please, save him! He's dying! Are you really going to let him die down here? The Everhart family will find this place eventually! Aren't you afraid of what we'll do to you?"

Despite her desperate threats and pleas, Felicia never answered. Trapped in the damp darkness, Dorian's fever raged on. Three hours later, the heavy door finally opened.

Leonie hoped Felicia had found her conscience and come to save him, but the guards only tossed a handful of basic antibiotics onto the floor.

"Felicia says whether he lives or dies is up to fate."

Leonie stared at the scattering of pills, completely clueless about medical care. She forced the medication down Dorian's throat based on the vague instructions. Fighting through her nausea from the metallic stench of blood, she tried to apply the topical powder.

His wounds were already festering, the sickly sweet scent of decay filling the room. Leonie nearly vomited.

She dumped the clotting powder heavily over his wounds, but it was like using a band-aid on a bullet hole. It did absolutely nothing.

Two more agonizing days dragged by. Leonie finally reached her breaking point. She screamed at the speaker, cursing Felicia to hell.

"He's dead! Are you happy now? He's dead!"

Footsteps finally echoed down the stairs. When Felicia stepped into the room, Leonie lunged at her.
