The Amazing son in law Chapter 1111
Elaine was boiling with anger, feeling as if she might explode at any moment.
She had just cautioned Charlie to be wary of the Lady that morning, yet instead of heeding her advice, he had brought home an overwhelming amount of fresh chives!
Now, they were practically a magnet for the Lady and her family!
In the past, she would have scolded Charlie without hesitation, but now she lacked the courage to confront him.
Meanwhile, Claire turned to Charlie in the room and asked, “Dear, what would you like for dinner?”
Charlie flashed a sly smile and replied, “You usually don’t concern yourself with these things. What’s brought about this change? Why are you so curious about my dinner preferences tonight?”
With a childlike grin, Claire replied, “I thought it would be fun to go pick some vegetables from the garden. Just tell me what you’d like to eat, and I’ll gather them. How does that sound?”
Charlie nodded enthusiastically, saying with a warm smile, “Let’s go together, just like we did this morning.”
Claire’s cheeks flushed a bright red as she remembered the kiss Charlie had stolen earlier that day.
She playfully rolled her eyes at him and teasingly warned, “You can join me, but don’t you dare take advantage of me again!”
Charlie tilted his head in mock confusion. “What do you mean, dear? Take advantage of you? I’m lost!”
Claire huffed, “Regardless, you need to keep at least half a meter away from me!”
With that, she turned and went down the stairs, and Charlie hurried after her.
As they stepped into the yard, Claire gasped in surprise at the sight of chives sprawling around the fences. “Wow, where did all these chives come from? I didn’t notice them this morning!”
Charlie grinned and replied, “I had my friend send them over just now.”
With a sweet smile, Claire suggested, “Let’s make stir-fried shrimp and chives for dinner, okay?”
Charlie quickly interrupted, “Oh no, those chives aren’t ready to be picked yet. We can’t use them right now.”
“Huh?” Claire frowned in confusion. “They look perfectly fine to me. Why can’t we use them?”
Charlie explained, “You don’t get it. They might look okay, but they’re not ready for eating yet. Just give them a little more time, alright?”
Claire nodded, conceding, “Alright then. How about roasted eggplants for dinner? I’d also like some Mushu pork.”
“Sounds good,” Charlie replied with a warm smile. “In this vegetable garden, you can pick anything you like—except the chives.”
The couple happily gathered some vegetables from the yard before heading back to the kitchen to prepare dinner together. Claire cherished the atmosphere; it felt intimate and wonderful to be busy cooking alongside Charlie.
At the same time, the Wilson family was bustling in their own kitchen. Follow current novᴇls on Find★Novel.net
The space was crowded with all five family members as Lady Wilson had chopped a significant amount of chives to feed everyone.
Lady Wilson was focused on kneading the dough for dumpling skins, while Christopher was busy chopping and grinding meat, Hannah was scrambling eggs, and Harold and Wendy were washing the chives.
Christopher was a bit disgruntled. As he prepared the minced meat, he grumbled, “Why didn’t you just buy minced meat from the market? Why go through the trouble of buying a whole piece just to grind it at home? My arms are killing me!”
Hannah chimed in, “Mom said that store-bought minced meat isn’t as tasty and chewy as homemade.”
“That’s ridiculous,” Christopher scoffed. “It’s all the same meat, isn’t it? What’s the difference between machine-made and hand-made?”
Lady Wilson’s voice boomed from behind him, “What do you know, you fool! Go ask any elder; they’ll tell you that homemade minced meat is the best!”
