The Amazing son in law Chapter 1133

The Weaver family, consisting of a father and son, both held dreams of transforming their lives for the better. But as they stood on Mount Golim, a fierce cold wind swept through, causing them to shiver uncontrollably.

Jordan let out a sigh and remarked, “The wind here is brutal. Just one gust makes my whole body shake. We should get going.”

“Absolutely!” Jeffrey responded, equally affected by the icy air that seemed to penetrate his bones. He quickly tucked in his neck, stood up, and brushed the snow off his backside, then reached out to help his father up.

During their time together on Mount Golim, the bond between father and son had noticeably strengthened.

In the past, Jordan had always shown a preference for his eldest son, but he was often self-centered, making it hard for him to genuinely care for others. As a result, he treated Jeffrey rather ordinarily, though it was an improvement compared to how he had treated Liam.

Jeffrey, on the other hand, had lived a life of privilege, often seen as a slacker who spent his days chasing after women, which kept him distant from his father.

This disconnect stemmed from Jeffrey frequently overhearing his mother criticize his father for neglecting their family and for his affairs outside their home since his youth.

From an early age, these stories fueled Jeffrey’s resentment toward his father.

However, their shared struggle for survival on Mount Golim forced the father and son to work together, allowing them to shed their past grievances and rely more on one another.

In such a harsh environment, both understood the importance of each other’s presence. Losing one another would mean a lack of strength and courage to carry on.

Upon reaching the foot of the mountain, Jordan and Jeffrey made their way toward the distant glow of light.

The illuminated area was the village they called home, located about three to four miles from the base of the mountain.

As they walked, Jeffrey brought up, “Dad, I heard that Mr. Lange, the hunter from the village, caught a roe deer yesterday. They say the meat is delicious. Shouldn’t we stop by his house later and see if we can get a couple of catties?”

Jordan sighed in response, “You want to ask him for meat? That guy Lange is notoriously stingy. The last time he caught a huge wild boar, I asked him for just a piece of the pig’s intestines, and he refused. He wanted me to pay for it!”

Continuing with his rant, Jordan added, “Do you even know what Mr. Lange’s full name is?”

Jeffrey shrugged, “No idea. I only know his last name is Lange.”

Jordan spat on the ground, his voice dripping with disdain. “He’s a hunter who can’t even spell complex words. His full name is Williamson Lange. I once even asked if he could write his own name. Want to know what he said?” This update is available on find[ɴ]ovel.net

Curious, Jeffrey asked, “What did he say?”

Jordan chuckled before replying, “He claimed he could write his last name, Lange, but couldn’t even spell his first name, Williamson.”

Jeffrey laughed and suggested, “You should have offered to teach him how to write his name in exchange for some meat!”

Jordan shook his head, “You really think he’d give you meat? He wouldn’t even part with pigskin!”

Jeffrey countered, “Given how cold it is—below zero degrees—he’s probably already butchered the roe deer. The meat should be hanging out in his yard, frozen. We could just hop over his fence and snag a piece for ourselves. Cooking it would be a great way to boost our nutrition!”

Jordan quickly replied, “In that case, you better save a piece of the ginseng we dug up today. Don’t give all of it away. We can use it to stew the roe deer meat tomorrow. That would be a real treat!”

“Of course! You can count on me!” Jeffrey exclaimed.

Without hesitation, he pulled out a piece of ginseng and tucked it into his underwear.

The instant the frozen ginseng touched his skin, Jeffrey yelped at its biting cold.

Jordan looked at him in disbelief, “Why would you put it there? How am I supposed to eat it now?”

Jeffrey shrugged, “It’s fine. We can wash it a few times. If I don’t hide it there, there’s nowhere else. Don’t you know they’ll search us?”

“Alright then,” Jordan said resignedly. “Once we get home, we’ll have to wash it thoroughly. It’d be even better to blanch it in hot water.”

Jeffrey waved his hand dismissively, “Oh, Dad, you should know by now! Blanching ginseng in hot water will leach out all its nutrients into the water!”
