Chapter 126

The moon shone brightly casting an ethereal glow on Ella and Valen as they stood at the Manor’s front yard admiring the night.

Ella stood facing the moon and rubbing her now visible baby bump, a peaceful smile gracing her face. Valen stood behind her, his strong arms wrapped around her waist pulling her snugly against himself.

Ella leaned into him, feeling the warmth of his embrace. Her bright, beautiful smile deepened as she chuckled softly.

“Can’t believe you’re scared of being a father,” she teased, her voice laced with amusement.

“It’s not a crime to be scared,” Valen murmured against her ear, his breath warm and teasing. “I’m just speaking my mind. And besides I have never been a father before.”

His lips brushed against her exposed neck, his voice turning huskier.

Ella stretched her neck, giving him more room to nibble on them as she smirked. “You will definitely make a great father Valen.”

A low growl rumbled from Valen’s chest as his fangs gently grazed the marked spot on her neck sending delicious shivers down her spine.

“You think so?” He murmured, his tongue playing with the mark, teasing her.

“Mmmmm” Ella moaned. “I don’t think so I know so.” She whispered, her breath coming in short gasps. “You’re already the best lover and leader, our child will be blessed to have you as a father.”

Valen spinned her over as his lips claimed hers possessively in a fierce consuming kiss.

Ella moaned into his mouth, parting her lips slightly and giving him room to deepen the kiss. She placed her hands on his chest feeling the strong beat of his heart.

Valen’s grip on her waist tightened. “You will make a great mother Ella.”

“It’s unbelievable you know” Kael turned to Scottie as they watched the couple from a distance.

“What is?” Scottie asked, her face bright with a smile as her gaze remained glued on the couple who were oblivious to being watched.

“That someday there will be love and peace between your kind and mine.”

“Ohh…” Scottie smirked, tilting her head to look at him. “Is that why you kept returning back here? Because you were still scared your little sister might not be accepted.?”

Kael shrugged. “She insisted on returning back here, who am I to stop her? All I can do is protect her.”

Scottie arched her brow. “From who? Us? Her mate?”

“I didn’t say that. But I failed to protect her once and now we are reunited, I won’t repeat the same mistake.”

Scottie chuckled, shaking her head. “I understand your love for her, but on the bright side, Ella is more powerful than you now and capable of taking care of herself.”

Kael’s brow furrowed instantly. “No she’s not.”

Scottie laughed at his stubborn expression, amused.

She heaved a deep sigh as she turned back to the couple tightly embraced in each other’s arms, lost in their own world.

“Ella is lucky to have a sweet brother and a loving mate.” she murmured.

Kael grinned. “Coming from someone in the same shoes.”

Scottie smiled. “You’re sweet talker, I hope you find your mate soon.”

Kael suddenly paused, his expression turning serious as he sniffed the air.

Scottie noticed the shift and straightened. “What is it, Kael? Can you sense your mate?”

Kael nodded slowly as he continued sniffing, his focus sharp.

Scottie glanced around excitement in her eyes. “Where’s she?”

Kael leaned in closer, sniffing her. His expression turned teasing. “I think the scent is coming from you.”

Scottie paused as she blinked, momentarily stunned. She noticed the mischievous glint in Kael’s eyes as his lips curved into a smirk.

And then she realized…

Her eyes widened “You bastard,” she snapped, hitting him on the chest.

Kael burst into laughter letting her hit him. “I got you there didn’t I?

Scottie scoffed, turning away in mock annoyance. “I thought you had really found your mate. I was so happy to have another vampire mated to a werewolf. Don’t pull such a stunt again.”

Kael laughed as he nodded. “You should have seen your face when I sniffed you”

Scottie raised her hands to hit him again but paused when Kael quickly raised his arms to protect himself. “You almost gave me a heart attack! Dorian will never agree to share his mate.”

Kael threw his head backwards laughing. “Relax, I don’t intend to share Dorian’s mate and besides we are family now.”

“It’s good, you know.” Scottie scoffed, shaking her head and turning back to Ella and Valen who were now holding hands and smiling at something only them could hear.

“Thank you for returning Ella.” Valen murmured, his thumb stroking her hand tenderly.

Ella smiled up at him. “I belong by your side and your people have finally accepted me to be their queen.”

Valen’s gaze softened. “Speaking of being a queen…you know you will definitely make a great one to my people.”

Ella chuckled. “Since I’m going to be the queen of your clan, then it’s high time you start teaching me all I need to know about your people and all..”

Valen smirked. “My people…? Well…”

They held hands walking down the hallway as their voices gradually faded into the night.
