Chapter 302 Phantom Unmasked

Time ticked by, the only sound in the room the clatter of keys.

Scarlett’s heart raced as she watched Jasper’s focused profile. She rarely saw him devote himself so completely to something. His looks spoke for themselves, but when he worked seriously, there was an indescribable charm about him that made it hard to look away.

After about ten minutes, he stopped.

“Okay.”

Jasper’s voice was calm, as if he had done nothing of importance. He turned the screen toward them.

On it was a full profile: name, photo, ID number, home address, bank accounts, even his social media handles and hidden IP address. ʀᴇᴀᴅ ʟᴀᴛᴇsᴛ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs ᴀᴛ FindN()vel.net

The man in the photo looked to be in his twenties, glasses perched on his nose, refined and scholarly–nothing like a top hacker.

“This… this is…” Colt’s voice trembled with excitement. “That hacker? ‘Phantom‘?”

Phantom–the codename they had given the hacker, because he appeared and vanished without a trace.

Jasper nodded.

“His name is Ricardo. Twenty–two years old. Dropped out of computer science. Skilled in multiple programming languages. He joined this scam group three months ago as their technical support. He’s abroad right now, but through this IP we can pinpoint his exact location, margin of error less than five meters.”

He even pulled up a satellite map of Ricardo’s neighborhood and circled one particular building.

The entire tech division fell silent. The air was so still a pin drop could be heard.

Everyone stared at Jasper like he was some kind of monster.

The city’s top experts had failed, yet he cracked it in ten minutes? And stripped the man’s entire life bare?

It was beyond belief.

Colt snapped out of it first, slamming his hand on the table, his voice breaking with suppressed

joy.

“Perfect! Contact Interpol now, request cooperation! Freeze all linked accounts! Notify the action team–prepare for arrest!”

Excitement surged through his voice, sweeping away his exhaustion. He looked like a new man.

The younger officers scrambled into motion, the room buzzing with energy.

But Jasper’s attention drifted to Scarlett, who was still watching him.

His dark eyes softened slightly, a hint of warmth breaking through the cold. “It’s over.”

Scarlett’s face flushed. She nodded, her voice quiet. “Thank you, Mr. Fletcher.”

“Just standing up for my student,” Jasper murmured, low enough for only her to hear.

Her heartbeat leapt faster. She quickly turned away, looking toward Colt instead.

Colt was already on the phone, issuing orders with a rare smile on his face. When he hung up, he walked to Jasper and gave him a formal salute. “Jasper, words can’t express my gratitude. Without you, I—”

Jasper only inclined his head lightly, saying nothing more.

Jack clapped Colt’s shoulder with a grin. “All right, problem solved. Once this case is closed, you’d better treat us to a feast.”

“Of course, of course!” Colt beamed, unable to contain himself.

Just then, the door to the tech department swung open.

Thomas poked his head in, surprised by the bustle and excitement inside. A moment later, he sneered. “What’s going on here? Did you strike gold?”

His chest had been burning with resentment, stoked further by Wagner’s whispers, and unease had driven him over.

He had only hoped Colt would act as stubborn as ever. Ideally, Scarlett and the others would have been thrown out.

But when Colt saw him, though his expression soured, he reined in his temper—he was still riding the wave of good news. Lifting the papers in his hand, he declared, “Thomas, we’ve found Phantom’s identity and location. We’re about to bring him in!”

“What?” Thomas’s face twisted in disbelief. “Found him? Impossible! Even the experts-”

Finished

His eyes landed on the screen. He froze, pupils contracting at the sight of the detailed profile. “This… this is real? How did you…?”

Colt ignored him, turning to Jasper, his eyes brimming with gratitude.

Thomas finally realized and looked at Jasper, his face growing dark.

He had just mocked Colt for failing—and now, in minutes, this young man he had dismissed solved it all?

It was a slap across his face.

“You… you…” Thomas stammered, at a loss for words.

Jasper didn’t spare him a glance. Instead, he said to Scarlett, “It’s handled here. Let’s go.”

Scarlett nodded and told Colt, “We’ll head back now. Stay safe.”
