Chapter 757
Briony was sitting on the bed with a magazine resting on her lap. When she saw him come out, she said, "Dry your hair completely before you get in bed, or you'll catch a cold."
Stewart agreed. But after his hair was dry, he walked to the bed, sat down, and pulled Briony onto his lap. With a startled cry, Briony dropped the magazine. "Stewart!" she exclaimed, annoyed. "Do you want your hand to heal or not?" Stewart kissed her delicate cheek. "Bryn, can I hold you while we sleep?"
Briony frowned and pushed his face away. "No."
"Just hold you. I promise I won't do anything else."
Considering the man's past behavior in bed, Briony found his words utterly unconvincing. It wasn't that she was opposed to being intimate with him, but she was worried about his hand. "Stewart, go back to your own room."
"I don't want to," Stewart murmured, burying his face in the soft, fragrant crook of her neck, inhaling her unique scent. His throat bobbed, his voice low and magnetic. "We haven't slept together in five years."
Briony remained firm. "A few more days won't make a difference. Besides, there's no protection in your room, and I won't let you take that risk."
At that, Briony paused. It was true. As a single woman, she wouldn't have condoms in her bedroom. And with her just having recovered and Stewart's hand still injured, he wouldn't really be reckless. No matter how much he wanted her, he would hold back.
Still, with her soft body in his arms, he was, after all, a man. He couldn't be a perfect gentleman.
In the darkened bedroom, the man held his beloved woman, kissing her from head to toe. Mindful of her
recovery, Stewart focused only on
her pleasure, bringing her a release she hadn't felt in a long, long time, while he endured the intense urge to join her. His body was in agony, yet his heart was completely content. He once thought he had lost this Back then, how
woman
forever
could he have ever dared to hope
that one day she would be in his
arms again, biting her lip and crying
softly in his embrace...
In the darkness, the woman's soft cries rose and fell as she intermittently whispered his name: "Stewart."
His name, falling from her lips, burned like fire in his heart. The man lowered his head, kissed the tear from the corner of her eye, and nibbled on her earlobe, confessing in a hoarse voice, "Bryn, I love you." And I will love you every day for the rest of my life.

A session of pleasure, built on the man's unilateral restraint, finally came to an end. Utterly exhausted Briony fell into a deep sleep in Stewart's arms. Once her breathing evened out, Stewart let out a heavy sigh. He carefully slipped out of bed and went into the bathroom. A moment fater, the sound of
of the
shower could be heard. That night, Stewart took two cold showers. The sleeping woman was completely unaware.
As the first light of dawn painted the sky, Briony woke up. A strong arm was draped across her waist, an arm that bore three long scars-scars he had gotten while saving her. The scene from that day on the cliff flashed through her mind. Briony closed her eyes, suppressing the sharp sting of the memory.
Her fingertips gently traced the scars on his arm. The light touch must have tickled him, as the sleeping man stirred, his chest pressing closer against her back until they were molded together Briony froze her thoughts drifting back to the previous night... Her cheeks grew hot, and she gently patted them. The man behind her tightened his embrace and kissed her ear. "It's still early. Sleep a little longer," he murmured, his voice lazy and husky.
Briony couldn't help but smile. But a moment later, she realized something was wrong...
