Chapter 130
Chapter 130:
“Really?” She raised an eyebrow, giving him a doubtful look.
“Yep,” he confirmed with a firm nod, trying to sound convincing.
The girl stood up from her seat suddenly.
As Neal continued to eat, he was startled by a loud thud in front of him. He looked up to find an enormous bowl placed before him, overflowing with shiny, braised pork.
The girl clapped her hands together in victory, her smile wide. “Go ahead, I got all the braised pork they made today. Eat as much as you like.”
Neal stared at the giant bowl, his stomach suddenly feeling uncomfortably full at the sight of so much food. He desperately wanted to get away from this girl.
Where were Fernanda and his roommates? Why hadn’t they shown up to save him from this nightmare yet?
In the restaurant next door, Fernanda and her three companions claimed a secluded corner table and were already halfway through their meal.
The pasta here was a revelation. Despite the steam curling upward from the dishes, the icy blast of the air conditioning made the room feel anything but warm.
Levi and Alex eyed Fernanda’s pasta, its surface gleaming with a crimson sheen of chili oil. Just the sight of it was enough to bring beads of sweat to their brows.
It looked fiery—dangerous, even—just to behold, let alone taste. Wendy, however, seemed unfazed. She’d long since grown accustomed to Fernanda’s penchant for spice.
“What’s the deal with Neal?” Fernanda asked, twirling her fork. “That girl we just passed—she’s the one who has a thing for him, right?”
Levi and Alex nodded in perfect synchrony. Levi then pulled out his phone, scrolled through his gallery, and handed it to Fernanda.
Wendy leaned over, curiosity sparking in her eyes.

On the screen was an image of an enormous heart crafted entirely from blue roses, arranged beneath Neal’s dormitory window. Above it, a banner swayed with bold, declarative words: “Neal, I like you!”
Fernanda’s lips curled into a wry smile. “So, she’s confessing her love, huh?”
Again, Levi and Alex nodded.
“Quite the spectacle,” Wendy remarked. “Blue roses don’t come cheap. To gather so many, she must have some serious cash.”
“Exactly what we thought,” Levi said. “We’ve been telling Neal he should just go along with it. Imagine—dating a rich girl. He could…”
“Secure both a cushy life and a career. Talk about living the dream.”
“How’d she even meet him?” Fernanda pressed.
Levi and Alex exchanged glances and shook their heads in unison.
