Chapter 161
Chapter 161:
Beckett brushed her off with ease, his strength sending her hurtling into the wall. She hit it with a sickening thud, pain rippling through her body as tears spilled down her cheeks.
Ignoring her, Beckett began scrolling through her phone, his eyes narrowing as he found her chat history with Neal.
The messages, all from Bonita, revealed a pattern of care—morning greetings, reminders to eat, shared moments from her day, and sweet goodnight wishes.
It was a level of devotion Beckett had never known, and it struck him like a blow.
His chest tightened, anger rising fast and sharp.
He quickly noted Neal’s details, committing the contact number to memory.
“You really piss me off,” he said finally, pointing a finger at her, seething with restrained rage.
The moonlight reflected in his eyes, casting an eerie, predatory gleam.
It was as though he were a phantom poised to claim its next victim. Without hesitation, Beckett flung her phone to the ground. The device shattered near Bonita, pieces skittering across the floor.
Grabbing her collar with a force that stole her breath, he hoisted her up and slammed her against the wall.
He kissed her with savage intensity, biting and bruising as Bonita winced, her face twisted in visible pain.
Her attempts to push him away were futile. Beckett held on, relentless, until he had drained the moment of its satisfaction. Then, with a scornful glance, he cast her aside like discarded rubbish and stormed off.
Bonita sagged against the wall, her body trembling, her mind numb for a long time.
Eventually, she sank to the ground, picking up the fragmented pieces of the phone with trembling hands, each shard cutting into her more than the last.

The next morning, Fernanda stretched and rose with purpose. Today, she planned to visit Bright Lights Media, recently acquired by Cristian. As per the contract, she was now the head of the company, and meeting the staff felt like a necessary first step in asserting her presence.
She couldn’t help but wonder how they’d react to her sudden ascent to leadership.
“Where are you off to?” she asked Wendy, who was rummaging through drawers looking for clothes.
“Outdoor class,” Wendy muttered, finally pulling out her sportswear. “Your foot’s injured, but skipping the class isn’t an option for me.”
“That’s good,” Fernanda said, giving her shoulder a light pat. “It’s important to get some outdoor exercise.”
Wendy rolled her eyes but chuckled, slipping into her sportswear.
“You’re 100k sharp,” Fernanda said with a warm smile.
