Chapter 164
Chapter 164:
Fernanda didn’t see the point in arguing.
She thanked the young woman before shifting to the right, where the crowd made room for her. Fernanda carefully maneuvered her way toward the glass door at the far end.
Leaning against the door, she typed in the password. As the door swung open, a booming voice from the ceiling speaker announced, “Welcome, Miss Morgan!”
Fernanda was taken aback.
She couldn’t fathom the design. Was all this theatrics really necessary? People waiting outside the elevator turned to stare. Standing inside the glass door, Fernanda felt like she was on display in a zoo. The man who had been yelling earlier stood frozen, speechless.
Fernanda looked at him with a smile and said, “We’re all respectable people here. When someone says ‘excuse me,’ they actually mean it. No one’s cutting in line.”
As the elevator doors slid open, Fernanda stepped inside, leaving the space behind the glass door empty once more.
Several people turned to look at the man, his face reddening. He mumbled, “How was I supposed to know she was a senior executive?” The elevator arrived at the twelfth floor, and Fernanda stepped out. The office of Entertainment Today was bustling, with staff working on news releases and updates.
“Is Rosita in today?” Fernanda asked the receptionist.
“Yes, she’s already here.”
“Thanks, I’ll find her,” Fernanda replied as she made her way to Rosita’s office.
Just as Rosita finished brewing a cup of coffee and opened her computer, she heard a knock at the door.

Expecting it to be her secretary arriving for work, she was surprised to find Fernanda at the door.
The moment Rosita saw Fernanda, her expression instantly became cold.
“What brings you here?” Rosita asked, her voice frigid.
Seeing Fernanda again reminded Rosita of the embarrassment she had felt after being outwitted just days ago, a frustration that still lingered.
Rosita was in disbelief that someone much younger than her had managed to hide a recording device so cleverly. It was a blow to her pride.
“I’m here for an inspection,” Fernanda said, walking over to the sofa and sitting with a smile. “Seems like you haven’t seen the personnel change notice from headquarters?”
“What notice?” Rosita asked, her confusion deepening. She had no idea what Fernanda was referring to.
Rather than giving a direct answer, Fernanda pulled out her phone, opened her company email, and sent a notice.
