Chapter 211:

Since he had seen the program schedule beforehand, he knew the Esports Academy’s performance was set for around this time. He had seen Fernanda’s name listed as the electric guitarist.

Jeff had tried to envision Fernanda with an electric guitar but couldn’t quite picture it, so he decided to see for himself.

After doing so, he admitted he was blown away by Fernanda’s performance.

“Hi, Jeff,” the others greeted.

Sloane quickly joined him and asked, “You caught our performance, right? Weren’t we incredible?”

Jeff nodded earnestly. “Absolutely, it was terrific.”

Sloane giggled, clearly delighted.

With the performance done, everyone felt a sense of relief and lightness. After a brief chat, the group gradually dispersed.

Jeff approached Fernanda and complimented her, saying, “Your performance was outstanding.”

“Thank you.”

“I’ve picked up the guitar myself. I’m okay with the acoustic, but not so much with the electric. Watching you today, I felt both amazed and a bit jealous,” Jeff said with a smile. “I wonder, if I had kept at it, could I be as cool as you are now?”

Fernanda chuckled. “It’s never too late to start. Anyone can be cool if they set their mind to it.”

Jeff quirked an eyebrow and said softly with a sigh, “But I’m worried I’d end up playing just for myself, without an audience.”

“That’s unlikely. You’d have plenty of fans,” Fernanda teased, laughing. Jeff was well-liked and popular around campus; both staff and students held him in high regard.

“But next to someone as impressive as you, I probably look pretty ordinary,” Jeff quipped. “You must be exhausted after all that practice. I won’t keep you. Go get some rest.”

Fernanda nodded at Jeff and walked away briskly.

Jeff watched her ponytail swing as she walked away, feeling as though even the air around him had become more lively.

As Fernanda exited the building, an arm suddenly reached out and pulled her aside.

Instinctively, she tried to speak, but felt a hand gently cover her mouth as someone whispered, “It’s me.”

The familiar deep voice belonged to Cristian.

They stood in a dimly lit corner, shielded from the light. The round moon above cast a soft glow, veiling his face in shadows, making it difficult to see clearly.

“Why are you here?” Fernanda whispered back.

“I wanted to approach you after your performance, but you were surrounded by people and deeply engaged in conversation. I just couldn’t reach you,” Cristian explained. “I was about to greet you when that guy approached, and you began talking with him.”

Fernanda sensed a touch of irritation in Cristian’s softly spoken words.
