Chapter 214
Chapter 214:
As the silence stretched, Minnie grew increasingly uneasy. Her voice cracked as she pleaded, “Mr. Reed, Miss Morgan, I’m begging you—please forgive me! I’ll never do it again. It was Ava! She forced me. I had no choice!”
Her family’s business thrived under the Ross family’s influence.
From a young age, Minnie had been under Ava’s shadow, raised by her parents to follow Ava’s lead and comply with her every demand, knowing their family couldn’t risk offending the powerful Ross family. Refusing Ava wasn’t an option.
But now, standing before Cristian, her fear of defying him far outweighed her fear of Ava. The Reed family’s reach in Litdence was vast, and offending them would leave her family in ruins.
Fernanda’s voice was skeptical. “Why should I believe you?”
“I swear!” Minnie cried, her voice desperate. “I made a mistake, and it won’t happen a second time!”
Fernanda’s eyes narrowed. “And what will you tell Ava when you go back?”
Without a second’s pause, Minnie blurted, “I’ll tell her I didn’t see anything. I swear, I won’t say a word!”
“No,” Fernanda said firmly, shaking her head. “You’ll tell her you saw something—and give her the photos.”
Minnie froze, her expression a mix of confusion and fear, while Cristian arched a questioning brow.
He glanced at Fernanda, noticing the playful glint in her eyes under the faint glow of the moonlight. She was scheming something.
Fernanda leaned in, her voice a hushed whisper as she spoke to Minnie.
“Understand?” she asked, pulling back.
“Y-yes,” Minnie stammered. “I understand.”

“You’d better follow her instructions to the letter,” Cristian said, his tone laced with menace. “If you try anything, you’ll regret it.”
Minnie nodded vigorously, her fear palpable.
At Fernanda’s direction, she snapped a few more photos before scurrying away with her phone.
“Do you trust her to stick to the plan?” Cristian asked, watching Minnie’s retreating figure.
Fernanda’s lips curved into a faint smile. “Well, your presence alone is far more intimidating than anything I could say.”
Power often proved to be the ultimate deterrent. Minnie wasn’t naive; she knew the stakes. Crossing Cristian would spell disaster for her family.
Fernanda said, her smile turning sly, “If Ava wants to play games, I’ll play along.”
“Good that you’re entertained,” Cristian muttered. “But this is the last time.”
He was already tired of Ava’s continuous plotting against Fernanda. Fernanda didn’t ask about his mention of it being the “last time.” She just gave a simple nod.
After leaving the campus, Bobby couldn’t contain his excitement and insisted on treating Fernanda to a late-night snack to celebrate her stellar performance.
