Chapter 215
Chapter 215:
With barbecue on his mind, he led them to a bustling open-air food stall nearby, his enthusiasm infectious.
“Hey, how about some grilled sardines?” Bobby asked suddenly.
Fernanda’s lips twitched in response. “Absolutely not.”
“It’s incredible, trust me. Are you sure you don’t want just one bite?” Bobby’s eyes were glued to the menu, his mouth already watering.
“Order what you like,” Cristian said, flicking Bobby on the forehead with a sharp tap. “But stop trying to push it on others.”
“Come on, it’s a heartfelt recommendation!” Bobby defended, his voice tinged with mock offense.
He soon filled the table with his selections, while Fernanda stuck to a modest choice of grilled meat, declining to add anything else.
The beer arrived first, and Bobby wasted no time. He popped a bottle open with a grin and handed it to Fernanda. “Here you go—drink up. I know you like this.”
That first image of Fernanda, sitting by the roadside with a beer in hand, had imprinted itself in Bobby’s mind. The memory hadn’t faded. After a few rounds, Bobby’s tongue loosened, and he leaned back in his chair, groaning dramatically.
“Cristian, guess what hell I’m walking into this Sunday?” he said, dragging a hand down his face. “Dad’s dragging me to visit the Morgan family!”
Cristian and Fernanda exchanged glances, their mutual amusement gleaming in their eyes.
“That’s fantastic,” Cristian said. “You should absolutely go.”
“Go for what? To meet a fiancée I’ve never seen before? No, thank you,” Bobby huffed, crossing his arms like a petulant child.
“Why the hostility?” Fernanda asked, resting her chin on her palm.

“You’ve never even met her, so what’s the issue?”
“Because this whole arrangement is ridiculous!” Bobby ranted, jabbing a finger at the table for emphasis. “Arranged marriages are nothing but nonsense. What is this, a period drama?”
His frustration mounted as he continued, “And Erika says her sister is downright vicious. Why should I settle for someone like that? I’m sorry, but no!”
His fingers drummed on the table as he stewed in his discontent.
“But all of that could be just hearsay,” Fernanda said. “Have you considered that you’re judging her based on others’ opinions? What if they’re lying about her?”
Bobby scoffed, unconvinced. “Please, she’s just some small-town girl. What’s there to lie about? Besides, why should I even meet her? I’ve already decided I’m not interested. Every time the Morgan name comes up on my phone, I skip it. Why waste my energy?”
“You might want to reconsider. She could be exactly your type,” Cristian said with a smirk.
Bobby stared at him in shock. “Cristian, as my cousin, shouldn’t you help me convince my dad to cancel this engagement?”
“I am telling the truth,” Cristian replied calmly. “I’ve met her. Your fiancée is a lovely woman.”
