Chapter 216:

“If she’s so great, why don’t you marry her instead?” Bobby snapped, his voice laced with exasperation.

“You’re holding the spot,” Cristian said, leaning back leisurely, arms crossed, a playful glint in his eyes. “Once you step aside, I’ll gladly take over.”

Bobby gawked at him, stunned.

Had Cristian lost his mind?

His crush was sitting right there! And he had the guts to talk about another woman!

“You know, Cristian,” Bobby said, his tone serious, “Wendy calls me a jerk, but I think you take the crown.”

Turning to Fernanda, he added, “Aren’t you going to say something? He’s talking about marrying someone else!”

“He can do whatever he likes,” Fernanda shot back coolly. “Why should I care?”

“Then I’ll marry the eldest daughter of the Morgan family.” Cristian’s grin widened. “You really won’t mind?”

Heat rushed to Fernanda’s face, and she grabbed the chilled beer bottle, pressing it against her flushed skin. She turned away, avoiding his gaze. “If you’ve got the guts, go ahead.”

“Alright.” Cristian nodded, his tone serious. “I’ll make it happen.”

Watching this exchange, Bobby shook his head, bewildered. The conversation was slipping further out of his grasp.

Ah, he got it now.

His angel was jealous. Cristian was sulking. And it was all because of that Morgan girl!

Bobby declared, slamming the table for emphasis, “This weekend, I’ll go to that Morgan family banquet. I’ll give that Morgan girl a piece of my mind!”

Ava couldn’t suppress a wide grin when she looked at the photos in Minnie’s album.

“But they’re all blurry.” Ava squinted and tilted her head but still couldn’t make out the figures in the photos.

“That’s because Fernanda and the man were in a dimly lit corner, so the photos didn’t come out clear,” Minnie explained. “But it’s definitely her with some guy, and they seem quite close!”

Ava snorted. “I saw it coming—Fernanda is seeing others behind Bobby’s back. She’s not a faithful woman at all; just look at her beautiful face, drawing attention from everyone.”

She could already envision the outrage of the Harper family upon seeing these photos.

“Let me brighten those photos up a bit,” Minnie suggested. “Maybe then we can make out who the guy is.”

“No need!” Ava quickly said. “I’ll handle the adjustments myself.” The man’s identity was irrelevant; the important part was that the woman was Fernanda.

Furthermore, editing the photos too much would make it obvious they had been altered, which could backfire.

Ava wanted to shock the Harpers with the untouched photos for maximum effect.
