“My hand might not be up for it, though,” Neal said with a sigh, his gaze drifting to the ceiling. “Gaming’s become a real challenge. If I go live, I’ll just end up getting criticized.”

“Oh, your words remind me of something else,” Fernanda said. “There’s a college league coming up this winter. Think you’ll join?”

“No, not interested,” Neal dismissed the idea with a wave of his hand.

“The top prize is three hundred thousand.”

At that, Neal perked up. “How do I sign up?”

“You can register through me,” Fernanda said with a smile. “I’m actually the one organizing the event.”

Neal looked at Fernanda, his face etched with confusion. “You are the one organizing the event?”

“Why are you doing this?”

“I’m putting together a team,” Fernanda explained, her voice filled with determination. “We’ll compete at the district level next summer.
