And it was truly incredible. Fernanda, nineteen, had already aced her entrance exam to Esaham University and was pursuing her dreams before her academic journey even began.

“Alright, I’m in,” Neal said. “But just so we’re clear, no funny business. If I win, you better not hold back my prize just because we’re friends.”

“Absolutely not. That’s not who I am,” Fernanda said with a smile, her eyes narrowing slightly. “And if you actually win the championship, I’ll make sure to personally give you an extra hundred thousand as a reward.”

“Then it’s settled,” Neal exclaimed. “Once I’m out of here, I’ll dedicate myself to honing my gaming skills.”

Money, it seemed, was a powerful incentive.

Noticing Neal’s eagerness, Fernanda looked puzzled. “Aren’t you doing well financially? You should be, with your gaming prowess and that streaming contract of yours, right?”

She figured that Neal’s streaming income, considering current trends, would be substantial, easily reaching six figures a year, plus the virtual gifts from fans during his streams. He really shouldn’t be in need of money.

Neal quipped, “Well, who would ever complain about having too much money?”

He had a point.

Fernanda decided against sharing the recent incident involving Beckett and Bonita with Neal. Considering the tense relationship between Bonita and Neal, divulging this could unnecessarily burden him.

Besides, Bonita likely wouldn’t want Neal privy to her difficulties, Fernanda surmised, imagining her perspective.

Soon, it was time for Neal’s discharge. Jeff was the driver, and Fernanda, Levi, and Alex were accompanying him to pick Neal up.

“You shouldn’t go back to school just yet,” Jeff said. “It would be better for you to rest at your own place.”

“No, let’s have Neal back at the dorm,” Levi retorted. “We’re there to look after him.”

Neal had suffered an attack close to his apartment, and Levi was visibly concerned. What if Neal was attacked again and ended up hospitalized?

The school, with its strict security, seemed a safer option.

“Where would he sleep if he goes back to school?” Jeff asked. “Climbing up and down a bunk bed isn’t suitable for him right now.”

“That’s a valid concern,” Levi said, scratching his head. “But there’s a simple fix. We could just get a spring bed. There’s plenty of room in the dorm for one.”

Jeff checked Neal’s reaction through the rearview mirror. “Neal, what’s your take?”

“Back to school,” Neal responded.

He shared Levi’s concerns, understanding the risks. The threat of those people coming after him again was real.

Neal had no connections with Bonita, yet those involved were clearly irrational.

The possibility of another incident worried Neal.
