Chapter 301
Chapter 301:
If Rafael had truly done nothing wrong, why would Bobby have taken matters into his own hands so violently?
In an instant, Rafael’s image crumbled—from the charming, generous rich guy everyone admired to a shadow of a man, dark and vile in his true nature. As the whispers swirled around her, Wendy flashed a playful wink at Fernanda. Wendy had made sure to speak loudly, letting everyone know just how vile Rafael truly was.
He had attempted to take naked photos of Fernanda and spread them online to ruin her reputation, and now Wendy was more than happy to turn the tables and do the same to him.
“By the way, how’s Rafael doing at the hospital now, Jeff?” Fernanda suddenly asked, her tone casual.
“He’s not seriously hurt, just some bandages. He stayed overnight for anti-inflammatory treatment, so he didn’t return this morning,” Jeff answered.
Just then, Bobby, still bleary-eyed from lack of sleep, appeared at the top of the stairs.
“Looks like I went too easy on him,” he muttered, letting out a yawn. “I should have beaten that scumbag into the ground!”
Dark circles weighed down his eyes, evidence of the restless night he’d had. He regretted not insisting on heading to the hotel the night before, knowing he could have avoided the chaos that woke him so early this morning.
“Are you still going hiking?” Bobby asked, his words half-mumbled and full of exhaustion.
“Of course!” Fernanda and Wendy replied in unison.
Bobby felt a pang of frustration.
The last thing he wanted to do was go hiking; he just longed for a comfortable bed and some much-needed sleep.
But the rare opportunity to spend time with Wendy was too precious to let slip away, and his exhaustion paled in comparison to his desire to be with her.

In the end, love proved stronger than fatigue.
After inhaling ten pieces of bread, Bobby grabbed both Fernanda’s and Wendy’s bags, ready to take on the day with renewed energy.
The mountain they were about to conquer was Lochmoor Mountain, named after the county that lay at its base.
It was a popular destination for tourists, attracting hikers from near and far. Though not overly tall or steep, the mountain’s stone steps stretched from base to summit, with over six thousand steps waiting to be climbed.
Bobby stared up at the seemingly endless steps, the sight filling him with a sense of dread.
He tried a last-ditch attempt to avoid the climb, saying, “What if we just take the cable car?”
But his suggestion was met with nothing but a look of disdain from Wendy.
Bobby fell silent at once, his hope deflating like a balloon losing air.
Seeing the pitiful expression on his face, Fernanda felt guilty about making him carry both of their bags. With a gentle smile, she took hers back from him. “I’ll carry it myself,” she said softly.
