Chapter 311:

“Apologize!” Wendy repeated, pointing at Bobby. “Say sorry to him!”

The boy’s eyes darted around before, with sudden defiance, he spat at Wendy’s face.

Wendy wiped her face calmly, though her expression hardened. The boy tried to run, but he didn’t get far before someone grabbed his collar.

Fernanda had caught him. When he attempted to spit at her, she swiftly pinched his chin, holding his mouth open to stop him.

“You’re bold, aren’t you?” she said, her voice steady.

The boy wriggled in her grip, his eyes darting with panic but showing no remorse.

Without regret or apology, the boy’s black eyes darted around nervously.

Realizing he didn’t care about his actions, Fernanda lifted him off the ground by his collar.

His face finally showed fear as he kicked and screamed.

“Are you going to apologize or not?” Fernanda asked coldly. “If not, we’ll see how brave you are when you’re dangling over the cliff.”

The boy thrashed and cursed, his words shocking everyone. Fernanda and the others could make out his profanity despite the jumble of words. They were momentarily taken aback. How could a child this young know such vile language?

Bobby frowned deeply. Even in his anger, he couldn’t imagine using such words. The boy’s cries drew attention from a distance. A voice shouted, “Hey! What are you doing? Put my grandson down right now! He’s timid!”

“Timid?” Fernanda laughed, not in her opinion. Kids like him needed to learn a hard lesson, or they would become real problems in the future.

Fernanda was determined not to let him get away with it.

A couple in their middle years rushed over, both breathing heavily. The woman was at the forefront.

“What’s going on here?” she yelled. “Hurry, put my grandson down! If you frighten him, I’ll make sure you regret it!”

The woman stepped forward, ready to take the boy, but Wendy blocked her path.

“Do you have any idea what your grandson just did?” Wendy asked, her voice sharp and unforgiving. “He threw things at us and even spat at us!”

The woman didn’t flinch, her expression unchanged. “Oh, he’s just a child! What’s all the fuss about? He was only playing around with you. Why make such a big deal out of it?”

She reached out toward the little boy, who was sobbing uncontrollably. “Don’t cry, darling. Grandma’s here. Come to Grandma!”

The boy, still tearful, stretched his arms toward her but couldn’t quite get to her.

“What do you want from us?” The woman shot a glare at Fernanda and Wendy. “If you upset my grandson, you’ll regret it!”

“We’re not asking for much—just an apology,” Fernanda replied, her voice steady, even as the boy’s heartbroken sobs filled the air.

“An apology? For what? He was just teasing you. If I had known you couldn’t handle a little joke, my grandson wouldn’t have wasted his time with you! A group of grown-ups bickering with a child—how shameful!”
