Chapter 327
Chapter 327:
Rosita’s heart raced at Fernanda’s words. She suddenly felt a mix of nerves and a touch of guilt creeping in.
Rosita couldn’t quite summon the courage to meet Fernanda’s eyes, let alone hold her gaze.
Fernanda’s piercing gaze was like a lighthouse cutting through the fog, casting light on Rosita’s guarded thoughts and leaving her nowhere to retreat. Rosita’s mind churned with unease. Had Fernanda caught on to something? Could Fernanda have discovered her plans to switch jobs? The way Fernanda’s eyes bore into her felt less like an observation and more like a silent warning.
Rosita’s fingers clenched the pen in her hand, gripping it so tightly her knuckles turned pale, the pen trembling slightly between her fingertips.
Fernanda, lowering her gaze ever so slightly, noticed the pale tension in Rosita’s fingers and let a faint smile curl at the corners of her lips.
“Relax, Rosita,” Fernanda said, her tone calm but laced with a subtle command. “As long as you stick to the plan, Bright Lights Media won’t fall into Bloom Group’s grasp. Sometimes, stepping back from the fight is the best way to win the war.”
Rosita nodded gently, her lips barely moving as she murmured, “Yes.”
“Tomorrow, we’ll release only the news about Rafael. Put everything else on ice for now.” Fernanda’s tone was decisive, her words cutting like a blade through Rosita’s anxiety. “Please relay that to the department. I’m heading back now.”
Fernanda’s head throbbed with a relentless ache, each pulse of pain hammering at her temples as if to remind her of her limits. She suspected she might have caught a cold.
It was understandable—being ill was to be expected after spending so much time outside last night saving that boy. But the symptoms had only just begun to appear, and it hadn’t hit her as fast as it had Bobby.
Ector called Fernanda on her way back to the dorm to see if she wanted to join him for dinner that night.
“I’d love to, but I’ve got some catching up to do,” Fernanda replied, her tone apologetic. “Our teacher assigned a program, and I’m behind on it. Tonight’s all about studying.”

“Fair enough.” As always, Ector’s voice was soft. “I won’t disturb you.”
“Thanks, Ector.” Fernanda sneezed mid-sentence.
Ector’s concern was instant. “Are you alright? Do you have a cold?”
Rubbing her nose, Fernanda chuckled softly, “Maybe someone’s just thinking about me.”
Ector laughed, a gentle sound at her quip. “Alright, but don’t push yourself too hard.”
“Okay, thank you, Ector.”
After ending the call, a soft smile curved Fernanda’s lips, faint but genuine. After she returned to the Morgan family, Ector was the first person to make her feel the warmth of belonging, as if she were stepping out of winter’s chill and into the embrace of spring. He truly was a remarkable brother.
Back in her dorm room, Fernanda allowed herself a moment of solace. A hot shower washed away the day’s weariness, and after taking some cold medicine, she cocooned herself in her blanket, seeking refuge from the world. Her phone buzzed, breaking the quiet. A message from Levi lit up the screen in the group chat, asking about her trip.
