Chapter 335
Chapter 335:
“You’re just overanalyzing it,” Fernanda muttered, trying to keep a neutral face as she picked up her phone, her fingers mindlessly scrolling. She wasn’t even paying attention to the words on the screen.
All she could hear was Wendy’s voice in her ear. “There’s really no shame in it, you know. Liking someone is natural. Cristian’s a great guy, and there’s probably a lot of women who like him.”
Fernanda looked at Wendy with a questioning glance. “What are you trying to say?”
“If you like him, there’s nothing wrong with that, so don’t hesitate to admit it,” Wendy went on. “I know you value your integrity, but if you’re hesitating because of your engagement to Bobby, there’s no need. That engagement was arranged by your parents, and it’s not about you two as individuals. Besides, Bobby seems perfectly fine with you and Cristian. So there’s no reason to feel torn.”
Wendy’s words hit Fernanda harder than she expected.
Fernanda realized she was caught in a dilemma with Cristian because of Bobby. She was still technically Bobby’s fiancée, and whether or not she had feelings for him, she knew she needed to clear that up before moving forward with anything else, particularly something as complicated as love.
Starting something new while still holding onto that title just didn’t feel right. It seemed unfair to everyone.
It hit her all of a sudden—maybe it was finally time to end the engagement.
There was no spark between her and Bobby. They were better off as friends. But as long as the engagement was hanging there, it would just hold them both back.
Before, she hadn’t addressed the engagement because it helped her solidify her place in the Morgan family, keeping Robert and Michelle happy and avoiding unnecessary drama.
But now she saw that every advantage came with its own set of issues. The engagement might have saved her some headaches, but it also brought new problems into the picture.
It was time to sort things out, once and for all.

Wendy’s words had really helped Fernanda gain some clarity.
Over the next few days, Fernanda didn’t run into Cristian again, though she did get a few calls and messages from him checking in on her.
One time, when Bobby came to visit Wendy, Fernanda brought up Cristian in their conversation. Bobby looked taken aback and replied, “Are you sure? Cristian hasn’t come back. My dad spoke to him yesterday, and he’s not in Esaham.”
Fernanda was caught off guard for a moment.
It suddenly dawned on her that Cristian must have had something important to take care of, which explained why he had to leave so soon.
Thinking back to how rushed he seemed, it occurred to her that he had probably come back just to see her before heading off again.
The realization left Fernanda with a swirl of emotions and a hint of regret. Maybe she should have pushed for more time with Cristian instead of letting him leave to rest.
During that week, Rosita couldn’t shake off a sense of tension and worry.
